ON my ranch in Gainesville, I called it a ranch, even though it was only 10 acres, I paid 250$ a year,

Now I have two properties here that are tax free until I build,and then no matter the size house, which for now we only plan a 4k sq ft home the tax will be about 180$ a year,.

I'm buying my first home.. will be paying 3.6 on the dollar.. so it's going to be right at 6200... here in Houston..

But it's escrowed into the mortage... so no lump sum..

Probably zoned greenbelt, but that doesent work on homes so I dunno what his deal is really.

My taxes on my current house is only about $7k. They just built some new homes up the block and the taxes are fucking crazy. we looked at one and the house was only about $600k but the taxes were $12-18K a year. that's fucking sick ..

My parents use to pay around $1k/month, but that was NY and it was a rather large house.

Out in AZ it's worked into your mortgage and costs about $1500-2k/year.

My taxes this year on a small little house in hollywood fl are supposed to be about 3700.00

BUT they are in the process of property tax reform here in Fl so hopefully it will be alot less

I pay $500 a year currently, and I am about to close the deal on another property in the neighborhood that will be about the same. When all is done I will owe about $1k/year.

Louisiana is so fucked up that it really pisses me off to have to give them that much money.

I grew up in Florida where the govt was much better, much more efficient, and there was no state income tax and low property taxes.
Here I pay more and get less, it sucks.

We're taxed over 40% on our income so please stop with the "You guys get free health care". Damn that makes me laugh.

I was just pretending to make Canada sound like a great place to live!

On the first 80k, we are taxed 42% or so and it drops after that but our US taxes are not mucher lower then 40% over all depending on the state.

I'm not sure what the overall tax system is like up there, but here in the top brackets you pay 35% income tax, plus social security and medicare tax (15.3% if you're self employed), plus property tax if you own property, state income tax, and sales tax.

That AND we have to pay outrageous prices for health care.

Having said all that, I still wouldn't want to live anywhere but the U.S., but I wish our leaders would get out of the pockets of the HMO's and give us an affordable and efficient health care system where everyone is covered.
