Haha, sounds like you got the Id software collection from steam. I'm playing through old quake 1 right now and kicking some ass in Q3 CTF.

And it took 3 floppydisks to install. It was HUGE back then

Oh the memories. When you look at Doom 3 and see how far gaming in general has come it is truly remarkable. Doom 3 scared the shit out of me, btw. Same with F.E.A.R.

I loved doom would play for hours and hours in the dark.

Which version was that? I don't remember there being a true 3D version, just the 2d bitmap style sprites.

Is that maybe one of the remakes they did for the consoles?

Id is coming out with something new soon, they have some new graphics engine they developed that is supposed to kick ass.

Doom was a great game...my son was really young and used to play it all the time...it was weird watching him as he would die in the game a lot, but would always remember where everything as, so eventually, he could beat the game...he was really good at remembering passage ways, etc.

i used the all ammo cheat once and happily beat the game several time without cheats :thumbsup

Yeah... I spent even more hours with this game. I remember I had the software where you could make your own maps and play multiplayer on them. That was great fun....
