Do you tip the pizza delivery guy?
 

I always have but now that they're charging $2 per delivery it makes me think I shouldn't have to.

What are your thoughts?

I don't want him spitting on my pizza.

If it's delivered in a reasonable amount of time and it's hot

I tip $2 for one pizza, and then $1 for each additional pizza.

I always tip the pizza delivery guy. Usually $3.00 to $5.00, depending on overall price.

Why not just tip $3 all the time? Do you really think it's takes that much more effort to carry an additional pizza to pay another buck?

I have to admit, when I was paying for dinner tonight I told my daughter I wasn't really sure why I was tipping the guy. He took my order and brought the food.

I never saw him again until it was time to pay.

lame excuse, the only way they can do that is if they pre-spit on it before delivering it, because of not knowing if they are getting a tip or not, and if they do it infront of you, not only are they getting fired, but your pizza delivery service will have a hella lawsuit on their hands.. :2 cents:

always tip the delivery guy... he's providing you with a service that allows you to have your food with out having to leave the house to get it, or to fix it yourself

i tip atleast 5 dollars each time. They do not make much money and they are looking foward to tips I got no problem throwing in a few extra bucks.

3-4 bucks if the weather is decent, 5-6 bucks if it's raining or snowing like a bitch.

Lame excuse? For tipping? If they come to your house often enough they know if they are getting tipped or not. I want them to know they are getting tipped so they get there quickly and sans spittle.

I am usually drunk when I order pizza and I end up giving them a 10 dollar tip. I tend to do this for anyone that is bringing me booze or food.

The $2 (or any delivery charge) is to make sure the car maintenance (including fuel, etc) costs are met.

The tip is for their own income.

15%+ if they do special favors for you like pick up a pack of smokes en route (from back in the day when I used to smoke) or run you back some item you forgot to ask for.

Had pizza delivered tonigh (yeah, not healthy bud damn good - especially the hot wings!) and tipped the guy $5 like usual.

I delivered pizza when I first got out of high school and I know how much it sucks, so yea, ALWAYS!

oh puh-leeze - it's a tough job? it's an easy fucking job and pays what it should pay - minimum wage whatever your state/province decides is a fair minimum wage. people who don't want to be doing those jobs past college should bust their ass in school or learn how to do something that not any moron with a drivers license can do.

tipping shouldn't be part of the pizza delivery biz - let the pizza store owner pay them, raise their prices on their pizza or charge per delivery - no way does a pizza delivery guy deserve a thing if you are already explicitly being charge for delivery.

Always, at least a buck or two a pizza.

After working through school delivering pizzas, it's the least I can do. The regular pay is crap, and you never get a raise, because 'you already get tips man, that's your raise'.

And as a side note, the drivers do NOT get any of the money from the delivery charge. At least none of the places I ever worked gave out any of that. And of course we did remember the regular customers, and who tipped and who always stiffed.

word, just like waiter/waitresses, they do nothing but pick up your food and deliver it to you, woopidy do, you guys can all pay me $5 to pick up a box, set down in my car, and work the gas/break for a few mins and give you your food, i won't mind
