D 12-05-2007 06:09 PM

This list gets circulated now and then... and part of the reason that we don't know some of those is because they're simply not true.

http://www.gfy.com/13136881-post7.html

Quote:

1. Coca-Cola was originally green.
Not true.
http://www.snopes.com/cokelore/green.asp

Quote:

3 . The name of all the continents ends with the same letter that they start with.
I'm pretty sure [N]orth Americ[a], and [S]outh Americ[a] are the actual names of 2 of the continents.

Quote:

4 . The strongest muscle in the body is the tongue.
False. The tongue is made up of sixteen muscles... not one. In brute strength, the masseter of the jaw is the strongest.... in distance, it's the heart... in ratio to weight? The uterus.

And those are just 3 in the first 4. Glancing through, I'm not sure if others are false or true... but if batting .250 on the first 4 of the list is indicative of the rest, I'd say I'm sure there are others that don't hold water.

Sorry to spoil the fun... but I'd rather spread knowledge as opposed to disinformation.

Might be a good idea to check your sources and do the same next time, too.

:2 cents:

South America... starts with S and ends with A

the heart is the strongest muscle in your body, NOT the tongue.
