OMG! Why don't they sell!! Wasted domains.
I've been looking up some domains and it is unbelievable what some people have parked to make $5 a month.
And thing is that the $5 will steadily decline over the years. Why don't they sell the thing and make some money? |
because $5 a month is $60 a year which is $50 profit for doing nothing with it

These domains could sell for $2000 easy and that could be put in a savings account or IRA or municipal bond and make a whole lot more by doing nothing. Not to mention that the $50 a year is going to go down $5 a year as type-ins dwindle because they are useless and searchengines start dropping parked pages from their index. |

Hat.com would be a more useful name than hot.com in a general market sense. I realize that hot.com is an awesome name and I would rather have hot.com over hat.com. But I don't have a hat company that makes millions a year and can fork over what ever it takes to get hat.com Many big companies sell "hats", I don't know anybody selling "hots". :1orglaugh You can get "3 hots and a cot" for free in the pen, but not "3 hats and a cot". :1orglaugh |

I would love to have www.x.com
|
I see someone finally smartened up and sold:
http://germany.com/ Before it was nothing but a picture of his cat and a message saying that the domain was not for sale. I wonder how many years he kept that up before he realized he was just throwing away money. http://web.archive.org/web/200604241...w.germany.com/ |

Domain sellers are notorious for believing their domains is worth millions when it's nest to useless. Let me guess, you want to sell me s-e-x-y_Ladie-s.com for 100k. |
I could sell hot.com and live off the stock market for the rest of my life.

And if he did get an offer of 5 million and didn't sell it then he is either already filthy rich or an idiot. So I contend that the owner has not recieved any offers any where near a million dollars. Buyers have wised up a little. Pop.com isn't worth shit, so much money was wasted buying that domain. http://www.alexa.com/data/details/tr...etails/pop.com |

100k? shit. I think Shemale.com just sold for 500k recently. In ways it is better than Sex.com as far as marketing possibilities. |
|
Yeah.. bunch of douche bags with no brains...
Money and no brains.. sad. |

Give me a break. And who is going to order hot sauce over the net? People are paying money to see "Shemales" on the net however. Big money. The price made business since in many ways Buyers are looking to make money not just brand a product and in most cases the people with the big money to buy already have a branded product. I believe the right buyer would pay a million for hot.com but claimng that it would get that in any auction on any domain site it probably way off. That's what I'm saying. I can sell a bag of my shit for 50k if the buyer is a private detective trying to get my DNA sample for the murder of Prince Charles; but that would not be the "market value" for a bag of my shit. |

Know how many visit Hatches (I think thats the name) NM each year for that festival alone? Do you know how many microbrew style hotsauces are out there? Are you aware of the contest scenes and the like? Tabasco is a well known and to many bland been around forever hasbeen hot sauce. Now people want shit that will melt your bone marrow or bring out the sweetness of a given pepper and that shit. |
