I have been working with this girl for over a year and was wrapping up a solo site for her to open shortly. Just got word today that she died a few days ago from some sort of food poisoning. Strange way to go.

Probably wasn't "food poisoning", rather some type of food allergy, I've lost a friend that way......Next time ask if theres peanuts in the pad thai w/ chicken, pork, or shrimp. :2 cents:

Actually its very possible to die from food poison especially if you do not go get help soon enough. It almost happened to me and I had to spend a few days in the hospital to recover all because of some undercooked pork.

If nothing else the vomiting can cause severe dehydration which is deadly.

Very sorry to hear.

That is horrible to hear. Everyone should remember that life is fleeting. You could go at any time and to make the most of it.

That very well could be the case. I was just told food poison, but to them it may all be the same while getting lost in translation.

tranza 03-19-2008 01:23 PM

Are you going forward with her site?

D 03-19-2008 01:26 PM

Sometimes quick explanations are just easier.

That is exactly right. This is also how people die from the flu. It either leads to other complications or severe dehydration because you can't keep anything down.

As for food poisoning, if you try and stop your bodies natural reaction to it, i.e. vomiting or diarrhea, it complicates matters as well and can kill you. That is why taking anti-diarrhea medication, et. al. is a HUGE no-no when you have food poisoning. Your body is naturally trying to purge the 'bug' from you. This is why if you go to the emergency room for it, 9 times out of 10, they will not do anything for you UNLESS you show signs of dehydration. There seriously is nothing they can do for you, unless you have a parasite of some sort, other than administer fluids int he most dire cases.

Don't ask me how I know all of this :Oh crap

glow 03-19-2008 01:31 PM
