So Helmy took this post that I was slamming them, I wsas actually being a little silly - but I had no malintentions. If the general consensus is that I was slamming I will personally apologize to Mr Helmy......

So here is the post I made that got Helmy all miffed.....

from someone who doesnt go to either xbiz or avn shows. Based on those words it doesnt seem like it to me. The only show I have been to was webmaster access in atl and it was a great show and it was free.

No advice needed - I am being accused of something that is false in my opinion. Helmy is making a huge deal out of this.

the insinuation is there that someone was silly enough to give away free badges. to me it makes you look like you think you're better than other people and that other people don't know what they're doing.

Chris, I love ya, but I took it as an attack on Xbiz.

From that post i don't see anything wrong, but you guys both represent competing companies and I'm sure there is gonna be some words said (Xbiz is wrong, no avn is wrong... it's gonna happen... Your both great guys, and I have know Chris for many years, he is not the shit talking type (joking around and grabbing your balls type, yes)

meh, who cares either way. You are competitors, this isn't a hug-fest, it's business. No one should ever be hung-out to dry for having an opinion.

Lots of people make objective business decisions based of facts and rationale not on personally biased emotions.. but some people are different, to each their own.

If you'd have been working for any other company not competing with Xbiz whatsoever, that would go thru with prolly no mentions. I'm in the same boat as you two at a smaller level of course. Since I run a show myself, I have the right to think what I want, but sometimes I need to keep my thoughts for myself regarding my "competition".

Thats what I say. Why didnt you just talk to someone from XBIZ off the boards , considering internext on Vegas has become a ghosttown, id think maybe you can take some advise on show improvemnt. Ive lost a fortune at internext shows due to poor show management hence why i dont do them anymore. Its all about the dollar but its REALLY all about the dollar with AVN lately.

I think AVN forget's that XBIZ is competition and any thing to Sand bag another by either side is held as an opportunity. One will always be at the other's throat under any attempt to be civil or "Brothers in arms". Bottom line you two compete with another.

Being pretentious, being underhanded, being spiteful is on all levels between these two organizations dispite the effort to appear as comrad's on the public view.

Was Helmy being pretious? Hells fucking yeah he was. You can bet any kind of insinuation would get a cry baby face out of him. So he got what he wanted and you guys played into it.

Helmy will never apologise, never indicate that he is wrong, neither would top heads at AVN.

I say draw teh fucking line in the sand, and openly attack each other, it's competition and thats just the way it is. Both organizations compete for the same sponsorships and ad's within the publications, both organizations know for a fact that many advertiser's have to make a choice to promote in print. So it's all about who looks better, throws a better show, has better attendence and so forth.

So stop being pussy's and just accept that neither organization will ever get along.

I can understand why Helmy's shackles got raised on this. If I were in his shoes, I would take it as such. A slam though, no? Maybe a snide comment at my exspense.

if you said it then yeah it's uncool and bad timing for sure. You kind of said that the people who attended are of low quality, however you want the exact same people to come to your show for a "crazy" fee. So I have to say I would have taken it as an insult not only to me but to everyone attending too.

Then again this is text, and text and tone are 2 different things.


MikeSouth, no offense man, but you only show up when there is drama and often times you act like a little kid whose icecream just fell of the cone.
