Thunderball sucks

You cant drop link trades there, any you cant delete sites from there if there is still active link exchanges. And link checker doesnt work automaticly. Is there a alternative which works good?

DamageX 07-27-2008 07:08 AM

So don't use it.

CyberHustler 07-27-2008 07:11 AM

I just joined the other day and I like it so far...

Iron Fist 07-27-2008 07:32 AM

Meh... haven't used it for years now.. and still get trade requests... I wonder if people will get the hint... trade directly with me or nevermind :)

Klen 07-27-2008 08:15 AM

Well generaly link exchange is hard to do these days.Like webmasters stop caring about link exchanges generaly.

fris 07-27-2008 08:29 AM

And you probably will until you have a few hundred sites and it starts to time out all the time >< tried poking Mr Bond about it but no luck, in effect it means to me that I can't see all my sites when picking where people should link to = the system is now useless to me.

You can NEVER delete sites from your profile... this is how we stop cheaters from hopping around. You CAN Deactivate your domains and you wont get requests for/from them.

There's a guy with 889 domains and there is no problem operating them.

FireFox has a Lower Timeout Threshold on AJAX actions. Try IE until FireFox steps up... hopefully in Version 3

Contacting trade partner will take toomuch time beside question is will he ever answer.
Also, speaking about cheaters, there should be systems which should check automaticly is link present on other site, and if not it's not there it should be automaticly deactivated.I mean cheating is not only reason why someone removing link.It could change of template, maybe no longer wanting trade etc..I mean, dealing with cheaters simply causing toomuch headache so that is why there should be system which can resolve automaticly such issues.

is it possible to not make them show up anymore to the public? is that what the deactivating does?

Nasty 07-27-2008 09:17 AM

Hmm, I have several hundred trades via ThunderBall and have never had a problem. It has done wonders for my blog network. I get fucked over trading links with people around here all the time, never been fucked on a thunderball trade, if someone drops my link, I know it right away and take care of it.

My only gripe is all the daily requests from newbie dumbasses with pr0 sites wanting to exchange links with my sites which all have good pr, thats getting to be a pain in the ass

Yes, you set the domains to inactive and this allows you to point links to them (develop trades to them) but does not show them as an option for links to others.

Most people have their important money sites deactivated, but added, so they can generate links to the money sites, and offer links from the other sites in their network.

Strange, I did ask you there but maybe I'm not accepted...? ICQ is in sig.

This is doing it with FF3, I'll check IE - thanks for the heads-up :thumbsup

Message these fools and explain to them that you will not bite on bogus trades, and if they continue spamming your admin you will Blacklist them.

You must have just had some bad luck, Ive never had those sort of problems, I have hundreds of active trades, get a cheat report maybe once every week or two on one or two trades

Btw, I bought a site that was already added to someones profile - is there a fix for that other than poking you about it?

Yea, that what I do, they just seem to be coming out of the woodwork lately

J. Falcon 07-27-2008 09:27 AM

I use Thunderball and it seems to work just fine.

So you just want to drop links any time you like without telling the partner? Well.. then you will get shit listed... and complain about that as well.

The system AUTOMATICALLY Checks links about every 15 days... and sometimes EVERY 4 days to Ambush the Bastards.

Everyone puts links up in their own way... that is why TBN is compatable with Everyones systems.

Many people setup a bunch of links... and then Drop them a few weeks later with whatever the Fuck Excuse they can come up with... That is why Thunder-Ball was built.

IT IS a BIG DEALto Take down links (automatically or not) because as other people in this thread have mentioned... We Don't Like to Trade with Strangers and when we see someone who drops links on a regular basis ... we have the Shit List to keep track of them...

... They cant just Drop Links and slip away automatically to setup more links with other people and waste those people's time.

True...

...but before Thunder-Ball... the amount of cheaters/link droppers was TOTALLY Fuckin Intollerable!! I would spend hours in the forums to get a few link trades only to see them dropped a week or so later.

There was no way to keep track of them OR effectivly warn other people.

Yes... and again... that is why TBN was built. You can see if someone has been a Shitty Trader buy looking at their profile and Shit Listings (if any). The Majority of people have 0-Zero Shit Listings because they know the system will Automatically catch them AND more importantly... other REAL People... will Shit List them

If you want automatic link dropping.... use LinkEX. Many people use LinkEX and Link Organizer in combination with Thunder-ball.

TBN is where you find and keep track of people to trade with... How you manage your links is your business.

Yes.... just Deactivate your domain and no one will see it or be able to make requests from it.

But!! You can still get links TO it when You Choose to.

This works perfectly for your Main sites that you are not going to Link From.

Bond, apologies from me since I only IM'ed you about the problem with the site already being registered and not the time-out issue. Next time I have a trade pending, I'll check things out in IE :thumbsup

This was the message btw:

For now... the procedure is to hit me up and I will release the domain after you put a code on it for me to verify you have control/ownership of it.

And ya... I need to get that automated.

I check my ICQ every day... just drop me a line

No worries... most people are on FF I know....

The problem was/is:

You guys have NO IDEA how many Robot and Script Attacks the TBN network deals with...

...and STILL Stays Online 24/7/365

The AJAX Front is a bit odd at first and it does at times cause timeouts in FF (but thats on the browser side).

The AJAX front was a necessary sacrifice for system security... I honestly can't remember when TBN has ever been down except for the occasional server reboot.

Bond.

beemk 07-27-2008 10:21 AM

the only problem i have with thunderball is the useless people on there that request link trades, but the positives far outweigh the negatives and ive gotten some good SE listings from using thunderball. if you're not using it you're missing out.

PrivateEye 07-27-2008 10:23 AM

I love thunder-ball and have told potential linkpartners to sign up with thunder-ball if they want to trade with me.

Bond I have sent you the names of some partners with fake pagerank through icq last week. I hope you received it?
