Swimming is low impact and far less physically demanding than a lot of other spots/athletics, swimmers are lucky that they are able to compete every day in the olympics, for most other sports its simply physcially impossible.

Swimming is low impact and very kind to your muscles and joints, that is why swimmers can compete at the top level 6 days in a row. Try getting other athletes in other sports to do that, they physcially will not be able to.
