XBIZ NEWS: RedTube Files $6M Suit After Hackers Redirect Site
SAN JOSE, Calif. ? Operators of RedTube claim that hackers obtained its domain name server password and in July redirected its traffic to another website. http://www.xbiz.com/news/112457 |
In for the win.
|
So who has the inside scoop as to who the defendants might be?
|
"7.5 million daily users"
|
They should all go to Jail.

People on GFY bitch about redtube all the time and Im sure that if the big program owners wanted rid of redtube they would have done it a long time ago. So fuck the hackers, they are a bunch of fucktards |
What, RedTube is in my town?
|
im surprised they have the balls to file a suit when they are breaking so many laws themselves.
|
so to keep score and all, stealing content to build traffic is ok. stealing passwords to get traffic is not ok.
so forget who they are suing, who got the traffic and did it make them that much money? doubt the prepaid advertisers dropped them, so curious if that traffic does that much in click sales. it says it hit on the 24th and lasted a period of time. since the 24th was a friday and lets assume it happened after 5pm est. and lets pretend that nobody at the registrar could be reached until monday morning at 9am est. in that case are they really claiming that their traffic is worth thirty cents per user? or am i just to stoned to be trying to do that math in my head. |
I hope they lose their case for being so stupid and not having better security...Dumb ass..
|
Interesting. They did not mention where it was redirected, but that will probably be revealed later.
I wonder what was the motivation for these hackers. Money (by stealing traffic) or damage (for redtube stealing content) :pimp ... or just for the fun of it.. |
great media advertising plan - me betting they filed this suit JUST to get it picked up by mainstream news
just me but it's just too coincidental after being sued before- they realized it got them mainstream attention and thus traffic. |

This one is going to be interesting. I will see if I can get a hold of the complaint and subsequent Answers or Rule 12(b)(6) Motions to Dismiss and post them on my site.
I suspect that many of the defendants will be impossible to find unless RedTube wants to spend some money. |
When your that big, the only thing left to conquer is mainstream media....
Nicely played. |

Well, if the hackers are not from the US it could be hard to go after them. I wonder where the hackers are from? Russia?
