For me it's between The Unforgiven and The Good, The Bad And The Ugly.

Although just about any old Clint movie would be a valid choice.

I usually stay at the holliday IN so wouldent know....maybe one of the ones in Miami?

I always thought Young Guns was pretty good. I watched the Pale Rider a few months ago and I also liked it.

Outlaw Josey Wales was excellent also.

'hombre' and 'the searchers' are couple of my favs for sure...

to be serious I think The good, the bad and the ugly. Butch Cassidy and the sundance kid and Unforgiven should be mentioned. Many are good though. Me personaly I really liked the Deadwood series.

Not only is it my favorite western, it just may be one of my favorite movies off all time.

and it's a story that's fucking owns. both were great. but ya, tombstone was better.

'butch cassidy and the sundance kid' was pretty badass :1orglaugh and does 'there will be blood' count as a western? that movie kicked ass too.

I do like 2 Mules for Sister Sara too, but its probably not really up there with the better westerns, just entertaining.

I like Clints stuff too, but the problem with his stuff is its all basically copied from Asian Samurai movies. I collect Asian samurai/kung fu movies.

A Fistful of Dollars is just a retelling and remake of Yojimbo done for Americans.

Yojimbo is one of my favorite films of all time and once you know the story you understand how Clint just took that story and rewrote it LOL

Nothing compares to Yojimbo.

Good ones but my fave has got to be True grit or Tombstone and The Shootist is great too

Not only was Fistful of Dollars a remake, they failed to get the rights to release it in America at first LOL Kurosawa (one of my favorite directors) rightfully sued.

"Unforgiven" and the Sergio Leone spaghetti Westerns, my fav of those is "Once Upon a Time in the West".

The Wild Bunch, taught me about honor among thieves when I was a kid.

I just saw Sukiyaki Western Django which was pretty fucking interesting. It's made by Takeshi Miike, famous for Ichi the Killer. Visuals were very impressive.

Also, I would throw Six String Samurai out there. I don't know if it really counts as a western, it's kind of like western meets mad max. To me it fits, especially since most of the great westerns were ripped from Kurosawa samurai storylines anyway.

More traditional westerns I really liked The Assassination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford alot, could have used a stronger editors hand though I think it's close to 3 hrs long. And I'll always have a place in my heart for Young Guns.
