This is just a little screen to consume content on. Read a few emails, look at some sites, play some games, watch a movie, read a book. It is not for cutting HD. It is not for massive batch photoshop work.

I bet the Kindle team are counting the days until they are all fired.

This is the first batch.... they'll upgrade it, fix it, tweek it out thru the years to come. Don't sell the public the best product right off that bat.... sell 'em crap, then up grade it.

I agree with the iPod comment, but iPhone did absolutely nothing to the mobile phone market. They just play it as if they revolutionized the industry. The only thing worth mentioning is the apps store.

No one else is. They've sold 90 and 15 of them were cancelled or charged back.

Do remember Apple was a computer company 3 years ago, with no experience whatsoever in telecomms. To go from scratch to this in 3 years seems fairly revolutionary to me!

somewhere i heard multitasking (run few programs and stay in background) will be in 4.0, but im not sure is it true..

This is just the latest in Apple planned obsolescence strategy. Why release something new and overhyped and make it fully featured when all the sheep will buy it even with all the limitations?

They can add more functionality later to keep sales brisk and that's exactly what they will do, just as they did with the iPhone, which, nearly 3 years after introduction, is only this summer going to be something I would consider using.

I love Mac OS, but I'm not sheep. I wait til the product is good.

I'm thinking that the Ipad is just gonna be another Apple Store like the Iphone where you have to buy every application you need OR am I wrong ?

I think the ipad will be just as popular as the iphone , for the simple fact that the usability of it will be as simple as an iphone or ipod. I think alot of people miss the simplicity of using an apple product and when you mix that with a product that can replace most peoples laptops and desktops ( internet , email , pictures , video ) it will be a huge success. I'm not a huge apple fan but they make things which might seem hard on a PC very easy on their platform. Have you went shopping for a laptop lately , The average person doesn't understand or care about if it's a Pentium, Dual-core , windows 7/vista/xp , How much Ram. They just want something simple , that works.
I wouldn't be surprised if you see an ipad sitting in over 50% of peoples living rooms in the next couple years ,it will be the average persons tool for booking flights , ordering groceries , emailing family , paying bills . etc .I always think if my grand parents told me they wanted a computer to do some simple tasks on it , would you recommend a net book , or an ipad . I'm pretty sure the easiest/best route would be with an ipad.

Never owned any Apple crap, never will. Steve Jobs is the luckiest dumbass in the history of the world. Despite his stupid designs and lame technology, there are enough people who just have to think they are diferent and they will buy his overpriced, underpowered junk, no matter what. Enjoy, sheeple. There's apps for both...

I can tell that i have had several pc laptops on my way to mac. Just the day they became more affordable i bought my first macbook pro. For designs things i cant say its too much different, better or worse but as a product it looks much more thinked of and finished. For me the cruicial part its how quiet it is, no noise at all, and being a unibody it feels real great when you carry one, open it and use. I don't know if its enough for YOU but calling it CRAP its a little strange, especially for a man who NEVER used it.

Yup, They did not revolutionize shit for mobile except their own market and how to play the mobile game. But even then there was all of this for windows mobile and java stores that a lot of people used.

Regardless of what it can / can't do, Apple's going to sell a shitload of them, because they're a marketing behemoth. And make even more money because it's tied to their app store, as well as the "upgrades" to come down the pipe.

Personally, I don't need or want an iPad (I don't menstruate), and my dell mini serves just fine for portability, as well as being able to angle the screen how I want it regardless of the position I'm in, plus a bunch of other stuff. Regardless of my feelings, the fucker will sell, will sell huge, and people who buy it regardless when there's better alternatives out there (which there will be), will always be able to self-justify their purchase.
