We have SNOW!

Well we got hit by a snow storm yesterday and boy is everyone tripping here. People down here in NC go fucking nuts when it snows. Only got 3-4 in but there's no milk, eggs or bread at the grocery store.

:Oh crap:Oh crap:Oh crap:Oh crap

This is not "snow" by Kansas standards.

This is very light dusting!

LOL!

SongRider 12-06-2010 08:25 AM

We get the same "panic" over here in Ky when we get a little snow like that. Our snows have gotten few and far between over the last decade. But for some reason when the snow eventually comes these rednecks feel the need to have toast and eggs and drink alot of milk cause they absolutely clear the stores of Milk, eggs & bread too.

iggysick 12-06-2010 08:29 AM

I like snow

nico-t 12-06-2010 08:30 AM

I always find it sort of amusing when I hear 3-4 inches of snow shuts down entire states down there. I was in Georgia back in 93 or 94 (I forget now which year) when a similar sized snow "storm" hit and absolutely shut down about 5 states for days.

Here in Winterpeg 3-4 inches of snow causes us to have to brush off our cars, unless of course you own a garage. Other than that nothing stops. Maybe a 3-4 FOOT dumping would shut things down for a day or two at most, but inches? lol

We have snow plows and sanding trucks all up in these heah pawts.

Tom_PM 12-06-2010 09:33 AM

Been snowing for a few days now here on the leeward side of lake ontario. Looks like 12 inches of fluff on the car roofs. Up to slightly higher than mid height on the car tires. It's enough for one snow event already!

Get2PayJared 12-06-2010 09:39 AM

Lots of snow in Toronto today...

Yeah, I have been thru there , when snow hit, not a pretty sight. To me it was just a normal, light, Canadian winter day :1orglaugh

People here just freak out, I'm from NJ so to me this was nothing. They even went to school 2 hours late today. LOL

It sucks that there are not enough supplies at the grocery store. Good luck getting the food you need.

How do you have summer in Greece right now ???? :upsidedow:upsidedow:upsidedow:upsidedow:upsidedow Summer / Winter is a hemisphere thing not time zone. Greece is in the norther hemisphere just the same as NC, USA. Now if you were in Australia, South America etc.

Tom_PM 12-06-2010 02:36 PM

They just extended our lake effect snow warning from 6pm tonight, to 6am tomorrow. Not that it matters.. it all means SNOW until it's DONE.

It's still snowing here. We're up to nearly 2 feet now for this season and this event (22.4 inches). They say it could end.. tomorrow evening, lmao.

I like snow ... It's magical, just like xmas :smilie_we

CPimp 12-07-2010 11:23 AM

It's been snowing here in Ohio for 5 days now but we only have about 2 inches on the ground. Don't ask me how that is because I have no explanation. And in re to the first pics posted in this thread, those are my favorite when the snow turns the trees completely white, then the sun comes out just a bit to really accent the scenery.

ArielRebel 12-07-2010 11:26 AM

same here in Montreal and it haven't stop yet... 30 cm so far...

I remember going to Orange County, CA one year for New Year and it rained on New Years Eve. Turned up a t a party and only about 6 people had turned up. Scared to go out in the rain. LOL
