Trust me when I tell you don't go with Sprint, I had them for years and they were far and away the worst cell carrier I ever dealt with. Verizon is more expensive but 100% worth it. I am just waiting for them to come out with an iphone and I'll probably switch from ATT myself...

djroof 01-04-2011 11:15 AM

of course SAMSUNG GALAXY S ...

NaughtyRob 01-04-2011 11:17 AM

I have the Samsung Galaxy S and love it.

Horny Joe 01-04-2011 11:32 AM

Love my Samsung Galaxy S...

CE Adam 01-04-2011 11:35 AM

Juicy-

You're in NY - Get a Droid Pro on Verizon...it's like a blackberry but with touchscreen and the carrier actually doesn't drop calls. Fuck ATT they are the worst.

djroof 01-04-2011 11:40 AM

how cost galaxy there?

NetHorse 01-04-2011 11:41 AM

Galaxy S, although, right now might not be the best time to buy a new phone. Rumors are circulating about the next generation of phones with 4G capability to be released soon.

The DroidX feels too big and clunky, the screen looks dull in comparison to the super AMOLED in the Galaxy S and retina on the iphone and the software feels laggy, (Galaxy S runs the latest 2.3 gingerbread).

The HTC EVO is worse than all of them, especially in-terms of battery life.

Persius 01-04-2011 11:41 AM

Juicy, Htc evo is nice but it is huge!

Won't even fit in your pocket , one thing i don't like about most androids

$199 with a 2 year contract.

candyflip 01-04-2011 11:43 AM

The Sprint version of the Galaxy has the slide out keyboard and isn't all that bulky. Maybe compared to the iPhone, but not at all compared to the other Android phones.

The Nexus S is the best phone on the market, but it's a variant of the Galaxy S. It will get all the most up to date software releases first and fastest. You can buy it unlocked and put it on TMobile or ATT if I'm not mistaken.

All my jeans have big pockets (custom made) do to my immense penis , the Evo is small compared to the package my pockets hold now :1orglaugh

If the battery life is anything like the Motorola Charm, I'd pass.

I second that.

abshard 01-04-2011 12:16 PM

I just moved from verizon to T-mobile and got the MyTouch 4G its pretty nice. For 99/month you get unlimited talk, text, data

Jim_Gunn 01-04-2011 12:46 PM

I love my Evo 4G, it fits in my pants pockets just fine. It's hard to look at phones with puny 3.7" screens now like the iPhone! The battery life on the Evo isn't great, but it is manageable and I am almost always somewhere I can re-charge it if need be, either at home, my office, locations for filmimg etc.

I also like the HTC Sense UI. It is evolving and becoming an aspired to standard in the Android community. I do miss a hard keyboard, but there's the Epic for Sprint , a Samsung Galaxy S phone if you want one of those. There's also nothing wrong with moving over to Verizon for one of the Droid phones if Verizon service works better in your area. Contrary to what someone else said, Sprint service has been working great for me for years now here in South Florida and other places I go every year like Vegas & Tampa. I have unlimited data, 4G service now in South Florida and many other cities and almost never a dropped call and at the lowest price in the business.

The important thing is that once you are on the Android platform, you will have access to all of the mostly free apps, features and customizations that the Android community has made available.

96ukssob 01-04-2011 12:49 PM

I'm thinking the same thing. I'm getting sick of this shit network of dropping calls constantly, the phone is not really worth it.

IMO, id go with the 4g EVO or Droid X.

Verizon just announced their 4G network, I'm going to hold off and wait until it comes out in my area soon and pick up one of their phones

I like to show this video as a comparison, to the HTC Desire...which is as close to the EVO as you can get.

bl4h 01-04-2011 01:05 PM

Its a bit fragile though so expect to make it twice its size with some armor

djroof 01-04-2011 01:08 PM

tiger 01-04-2011 01:35 PM

The EVO is with out a doubt the best droid out there, especially if you like a big screen.

You must have tiny pockets. Fits in my pocket easy.

We just did one recently. Sprint said it could take a few days, but it took about 12 hours.

And at the moment, the EVO is NOT the best Android phone on the market. There's really no debating that.

NetHorse 01-04-2011 03:47 PM

I don't know how you guys prefer the EVO and DroidX. The screen is almost 30% bigger and it has a lower resolution than the iPhone. Unless you zoom in the clarity of the text on the iphone puts both of them to shame. Use both phones side by side browsing a site and you will see what I'm talking about. Screen size isn't everything.

The Galaxy S is a bit more crisp with a slightly smaller, (better pixel density) super AMOLED screen. So if you wanted an android coming from an iPhone 4 I would go in that direction.

fobert 01-04-2011 05:45 PM

i'd wait for CES and the release of phones like the lg optimus2x/star; 1-1.2ghz dual core, 1080 recording, 4g/lte, samoled...and thinner than the iphone 4: link to engadget article...

Zorgman 01-04-2011 05:48 PM

HTC Desire (white).

Anthony 01-04-2011 06:07 PM

So does skype work with any of the droid phones? For face to face talking, etc?

Puremeds-J 01-04-2011 06:07 PM

I've been going back and forth between the Galaxy S and the Droid X. I have the old droid right now..

ExtremeBank_Adam 01-04-2011 08:28 PM

The new Evo Shift 4G for Sprint comes out on January 9. Thinking of dropping my iPhone, too... I hate my phone.

I still have an active Sprint account, so I'll probably add either that or the Evo 4G in the next week or so.

epitome 01-04-2011 08:54 PM

I love my HTC Incredible. Same size as iPhone and same feel.
