stewart is an idiot.
he's comparing the overpaid public sector unions with the failed attempt to single out a small portion of tax payers for a tax increase? he's an idiot and so are the people who think he's right. |
Funny.....
The sad part isn't that fox news actually spews this trash and gets away with it, day after day and year after year, no, no... that isn't the sad part. The sad part is all the sheep that listen to them and actually take in the trash they spew as fact. |

I saw it. Brilliant piece as usual.
It's clear to me that Republicans and Fox news want to keep the nation STUPID. Think about it. Cutting funding for school and teachers while simultaneously electing idiots like Bush, Palin, Bachmann, O'Donnell etc into office preaching gross financial, political and scientific inaccuracies, and being backed up by fucktards like O'reilly, Beck and other assholes at Fox News. Just amazing. |
John stewart should be shot in the face

Here's an example.. |

Without taxes, we have no teachers, and without teachers and everything related to what those taxes allow for, we wouldn't have the knowledge, safety, life standards or ability to create the wealth we do. It's not like Countries without these factors, do well. They are intertwined... they are one, unless someone twists the issues to make them appear to be different. |

John Stewart owns fox news (and all the other news outlets) nightly
|
The foxnews tv show has run it's course. Maybe they should retool it and add a wisecracking maid.
|
I thought he made some very intelligent points. What I don't understand is why all these conservatives who were so strongly against these bailouts are defending it so aggressively now.
|
Yawn...
Liberal bullshit thread... :1orglaugh John Stewart = Arianna Huffington |
I hear what you all are saying. The hypocrisy is amazing. Are people crazy? After all drama teacher making $180K per year should be getting 90% of his pay for retirement after 36 years. It’s totally worth paying the $68 million every time we negotiate with the unions. Conservatives are all wrong after all the public sector, is what really creates jobs in this country. The public unions have every right to make sure that the officials they elect to office are at the same table to give unions the great deal they paid for. Let’s look at California, this state is making so much money that more and more millionaires leave the state every year. California taxes are so low that people can’t wait to leave. Unions make it so fair that that for the past 3 elections not one incumbent has lost.
Union leaders have it right, we should all become socialists. What is the matter with people wanting to become wealthy, what a stupid dream. If you are going to be stupid enough to have hopes and dreams to give your kids a better life. Then get your wallet out to pay more taxes for the asshole union leader that wants give 100% health care to fucking loser that teaches drama at $180k per year. And hell, fuck unions. Then we still have the admin union, the classified teacher union, police union, nurses union and god knows how many more that rig elections and bankrupt each state. And fuck bank bail outs. But don’t say that fucking unions are innocent. Bastards, don’t care if the business or state fails as long as they get paid and elect the people they want in office. How easy to be won over by a guy who can make the whole thing sound funny. He doesn’t even have to be right or accurate as long as he is funny and sounds liberal, it’s the truth. |

Now the same republicans are saying otherwise , that the contract with the WORKERS are of no value and standing... And if you listen to hate radio ( Limbaugh, Schnit, ...) it is even worse, making look Fox News are " fair and balanced " ... |

Gov Walker could have restructured the future, being that they're growing towards the positive - again. At that, it's odd everything was once in the positive, fine, good going and now it's not. I've always wondered why more Americans aren't screaming for the heads of corps, banks, investment funds, insurance, ect... ceo's, board members ect... that profited from bankrupting the system that so many now are bitching is failing... And what are people watching that makes them focus on the people and not the problem? |

I always love watching the argument about how corporate taxes should be lowered, because they're the job creators. Only problem is, over the last several decades, the majority of larger corporations within the US have proven without a shadow of a doubt, they will not reinvest that money into the US. They'll invest it oversees, where the profit margins are much higher. Then they actively go after teachers. How pathetic. If anything, teachers are one of the most crucial resources to a countries' survival, especially in this day and age. Are they just trying to dumb down the populous more than it already has been, or what? |

while i think john stewart can be brilliant at times, a scenario like this does need a much deeper look. workers need bargaining rights, but there is also a problem of union corruption like any other major organization. so it becomes a complicated issue that can't be solved simply by siding with unions. corruption is all invasive and spreads like wildfire. i was in venezuela for months during 2005-2006 and at the time the people were largely liking what chavez was doing for workers rights, huge businesses which were very corrupt and severely fucking alot of their workers were nationalized etc. That i can get behind, but soon after chavez like so many before him couldn't grasp enough power and started doing some looney fucking things which is really sad because he had the makings of a workable socialist-capitalist democracy. on the other hand i'm on my once in a blue moon bender right now which is making me rather sketchy (i started writing this post about 30 minutes ago0 and btw i am not left wing, right wing, dem, republican or whatever the fuck. no system has been utilized yet to express the kind of government i'd like to see, probably because its not humanly possible, or maybe because i'd end up hating it as well. |

the bonuses were for work already performed... you agree to pay programmer $10k and the programmer performs that work, you owe him $10k, the fact that the company is going out of business or that government had to bail them out is irrelevant... work was done, $$ is owed... no? (replace $10k with $10M and programmer with ceo :winkwink:) I'm not very familiar with the teacher issue, but it is my understanding that they may get pay cuts in the future? or they will no longer have union representation? either way, that's in the future.. it's not like they are getting fucked on pay for the work that was already done.... huge difference in my opinion... :2 cents: |

But you have to admit... Fox takes the cake, they have websites dedicated to them that document the complete bullshit they spew, over and over, day after day, they don't even try to report truths. End of the day, all of them just try to pit us against each other by pointing out stupid little bullshit things that really aren't any part of what's really going on. |

some teacher teaching 30 brats, of those maybe 1 will grow up to make a meaningful contribution to our society... or some some "banker" who closes deals, moves $$ around, and makes investments in technologies such as the internet, computers, etc possible? you think you would have computers connected to an internet without a thriving finance industry? Where do you think the computers would come from? Who would finance construction of factories to build them? who would finance research needed to design the computer? etc |

Watched quite a bit of Fox news, CNN and also Msnbc recently. Fox didn't seem too bad, made sense with a lot of the union stuff but then again could detect the conservative leaning, oh and a bit too jesus for me.
CNN seemed pretty fair. Good international reporting too. Though MSNBC is just one giant anti republican attack session, they don't even try to give 2 sides like the others, its just an endless anti conservative attack network. |
