No meat for 8 days.

Waking up fresh. Feeling full of energy. Less stressful. Flattening stomach.

Still very hungry at times.

8 days on a meat free diet.

XXMAM 10-13-2011 07:19 AM

Whatever for?
I love my meat.

seeme 10-13-2011 07:20 AM

I eat meat like twice a month, not sure what the big deal is?

cherrylula 10-13-2011 07:24 AM

I don't eat much meat, it totally slows down your digestive system and makes me tired now.

Yeah, one of the reasons, i have experienced that too.

bronco67 10-13-2011 07:57 AM

Every day I try to not eat meat. Somewhere during the course of the day I say "fuck it", and have some meat.

O MARINA 10-13-2011 08:01 AM

IF you saw the tv show I saw and see what they add to deli meats/sausages in your Country... you wouldn't eat it for at least another 800 days.

SekobA 10-13-2011 08:07 AM

i eat one peice of meat almost every day,and im feeling great :winkwink:

potter 10-13-2011 08:19 AM

Technically speaking, from an evolution stand point. Our digestive system is designed to eat meat. It's things like breads and beans we're not supposed to eat (we only started eating those in the past few thousand years because we're able to process them and turn them into foods). We've been eating meat, veggies, and fruits for however long we've been on this planet - our digestive system has been fine tuned to handle that type of stuff. However it's not like "bread" was hanging off trees a million years ago. It's an invention of man - we take the wheats and grains and process them into something we can cook which then becomes food. Things like that are relatively new to our digestive system.

^ Just some interesting things to think about

PR_Glen 10-13-2011 08:21 AM

you are getting leaner because you were probably eating too much red meat to begin with and now that you aren't you aren't getting near as much salt as you used to. It's not going to give you magical energy levels those are just placebo effect. I'm far from demonizing red meat, i love it and eat it. I'm just trying to keep it in control because i definitely eat too much.

Maintaining iron levels and protein levels without eating meat of some kind is pretty inefficient in todays society. There is no evidence that supports that vegetarianism is a healthier lifestyle, in fact most don't know enough about nutrition and are malnourished and don't even realize it.

iSpyCams 10-13-2011 08:22 AM

I grill every goddamn day. I tried going without meat for a week once and it was terrible.

I started empathizing with other people, had no motivation because I wasn't angry and started smiling alot.

Fuck that shit.

I used to consume a lot of poultry meat, those chickens are evil!
I know a person who has been a practicing vegetarian for 22 years.

Hi Bros
This is a gay webmaster forum?

MaDalton 10-13-2011 08:51 AM

i might be a hypocrit but the only way to go meat free would be if i had to shoot the cow myself

i would switch to fish probably

Tom_PM 10-13-2011 08:52 AM

I tend to go for lean things like turkey. Just in moderation or whatever you want to call it these days. Ground turkey is ok, but it's pretty bland. Some red pepper and ceyenne help though.

Seaweed has a lot of iron if you need more in your diet and dont eat meat. New mothers eat it after childbirth to replace iron.

L-pink is a local macho. At least I thought. But his mentality is certainly ghey, IMHO.

Barefootsies 10-13-2011 08:55 AM

If memory serves, it's all about moderation.

You can eat meat, and apparently should. But it's supposed to be something like 20% of your diet, with the rest being made up of fruits and veggies. Not the American vice versa equivalent... 80% meat, and 20% fruits and veggies.

:2 cents:

Once someone's health is affected by smoking, wrong diet or whatever else people
choose their way to proceed.

Some people chose the way of excessive meat/vodka consuming combined with pills,
some people prefer to stop at the point of return.

I eat fish. No poultry, no red meat so far.

Doc says I should stop for 2 weeks and then cut consuming. I'm taking it as a method of losing some extra pounds too, so will see if there is a day I say I want a steak :)

I've read about a guy who was over 100 years old who's diet consisted completely of bread fried in fat back (which is a seriously fatty version of bacon). Does that qualify this as a healthy diet? No...

there is nothing wrong with chicken... as long as it isn't pumped up full of hormones and loaded with preservatives that is anyway.. In canada they are not.

I've been eating similar to that, but apparently something went wrong anyway. Can be I have had enough :) so far.

Small cut of meat and a couple veggies, maybe some rice, makes my stomach happy.

Sophie Delancey 10-13-2011 09:01 AM

I think it's great that it's working for you. Just listen to your body and see if you want to add some back in at moderation.

So, I assume, in my village it's bad for my health consuming broilers.
