Internext Is Back!
 

I'd just like to say that so far this years Internext is the best one in the last 5 years.

At last years show, I thought it was finally done for. And of course in years past, the old regime at AVN would practically assrape the attendees and not really give anything back in return.

AVN basically had no presence at their own show in my opinion.

But this year?

Theo and Panos and their staff have really done a fantastic job. They seem to be everywhere at once and making sure that everyone had everything they need.

They have treated Claudia Marie and myself with respect and have definitely made me a fan of theirs.

Just a small example: Last night we went to The Hustler Party at The Hustler Club. The moment we walked up the steps we were met by a guy from AVN who called to me by name and said that Theo and Panos wanted to make sure that Claudia Marie and I went to their roped off section and had plenty to drink.

That's the kind of little touches that make for a good event.

The show itself seems to have a lot more folks as well. I was speaking last night to another old school guy. He came up to me and was like: "I haven't seen you in 10 years". And then he pointed out that he has seen lots of people like that. Folks that haven't been to a show in years are here now.

And the general feeling among people that I spoke with was very optimistic. My gut feeling, and that of a lot of others is that we may have finally bottomed out and can start turning this thing around.

I'm really looking forward to the GFY party tonight at Body English and the CEO dinner tomorrow night as well.
Again...AVN making their presence known at the show.

Good job guys. And just let me know if you ever need anything at all. You've made yourself a friend. :) And I can't wait to see the AEE show later this week.

Good to hear, Robbie. Maybe next year I'll make the trip.

It would be very cool to see you back in the U.S. again and in Vegas partying with me.

Do we need tickets to get into the GFY party tonight, or do we just show up? Myself and Hubby and a few others in our new solo-girl network would like to attend.

Last time was a wham bam in and out, was worn out from travel feeling like a zombie and couldn't really enjoy myself. Need to come in for a few weeks at least.

Its been a great time so far, but I've been meaning to ask, why do we need to wear wristbands for 3 days straight? I keep accidently slashing my gf in the face with it

to keep people from sharing their ID badges and stop those who would color photocopy them at a local kinkos. I've seen both happen way back in the day....

I feel like I'm in the hospital, waking up with this wristband on.

Not a "wishful" feeling on my part.
I've been busting ass hard throughout this bad time for the business...and my instinctive feeling is that it's turning around and starting to pay off.

I go out a good bit with CM around Vegas and meet literally thousands of people. And the last few months their response to me has changed from: "Do people still pay for porn?" into: "What's her website, I want to check it out."

Just noticing a lot of little things like that happening. And in talking to others at the show...they are seeing that too.

First time missing Internext for as long as I can remember but very happy it's a rocking show!

Agreed on all accounts.

1. It is nice and convenient with the location, especially if you are in Paradise Tower.

It is awesome to be able to just come down from your room, and bam. You are right in the middle of the action. Whether meetings, or seminars. If you want/need to go back up to you room for anything, you are at the elevators in 2 seconds.

2. There are more parties and 'after hours' events offered.

The past few Internext shows had very few parties IMHO compared to years past. The quality of the after hour events have been better this far as well.

3. Quality of seminars is better.

In years past, it was the same dudes talking about the same bullshit. Typically it was a lot of them talking at you selling their product under the 'guise of some other industry topic. It's nice to see a refreshing change of topics and speakers where you actually looking forward to attending.

4. Meet n Greet

I remember a few years back when the 'show floor' for lack of better terms was little more than processing companies. I want to say that was the last year they were at the Palms. You walked in and for the most part it was all billing companies with booths. Really sad compared to years past.

While there are still plenty of people looking for new opportunities and deals, you also felt more optimistic about the industry. People's moods were better, and no matter who you talked to they had a 'bright spot' to share. Much different then the past few years. It seems that most of those people/company left have accepted this industry has changed, and are doing what is needed to adapt.

Great show thus far, bravo to those who spent the hours and time putting it together. If they can pull off the Miami show with the same luster of old, and quality of this one. It's looking good for 2012.

The seminars actually surprised me. I went to a few to hear some of our clients talk and I enjoyed tho


I REALLY enjoyed the cloud hosting panel. Can't go wrong with balls and nerf guns.
