Whitney Houston: who cares?

Houston has been washed up for 20 years. Her last hit was from the Bodyguard movie.

All the media does is focus on her heyday from the 80s, ignoring the 20 year reality of her wrecking her talent/career to chase the next high. Just ran into a picture of her 18 year old kid doing lines. some parent.

but the important thing is, she could sing.

really...name one song she made past 1992 in any of these commemorations.

Her legacy should be the tragedy, that she couldve been a star for many more years. Instead she leaves behind a glaring role model for the consequences of addiction.

But the media will never tell that story. Way too busy rehashing 1985.

epitome 02-12-2012 06:41 PM

Everything I've read talks of her problems.

Yngwie 02-12-2012 07:04 PM

I don't care at all actually.

BlackCrayon 02-12-2012 07:07 PM

no one cared until she died.

Somebody dies &you want to say you don't care.... why the fuck have you spend this time writing this fucking thread then!

Bodyguard, great movie, voice, great voice, curves.. she looked great. Fuck you :2 cents:

bronco67 02-12-2012 07:16 PM

My wife ran into my office last night to tell me she died, and I gave a fuck for about 0.2 seconds. Then I told her I was in the middle of writing an email and she should shut the door behind her.

beerptrol 02-12-2012 07:18 PM

just another story of someone with talent done in by drugs and/or booze

I was merely pointing out the fact, you care enough to tell everyone you don't care... How long has she given a reason to your life.. about the last half hour, or the last day since you heard the news... dippiershit

edited... my bad for the wanker img. There again, you could have maybe apologised for anyone that is insulted by a world of none caring folks when death is on anyone's door. Just to say you think she was idolised too much could have done it :2 cents:

People prefer to forget the bad things when someone is dies. For dead people we say only good things or nothing. Same as Michael Jackson - a good singer and artist gone, but no one mentions whether he prefer youngsters.... Also W.H. has not only one hit if we get back we can see that she was very, very successful singer with an amazing voice.

Im sure she gave ZERO FUCKS about you and your opinion.

Perhaps i should re-phrase. Why does the media treat entertainers like they are the most important people in the world. Whitney's big life accomplishment was entertaining people. not saving lives, not inspiring people to help others, not raising her child right. Her death is being covered as if she was a president.

She totally flushed a rare talent right down the shitter. She coulda used that fame for philanthopy, like oprah. No, she donated to her crack dealer, her doctor that gave her all the meds she wanted.

But you, like the media, just want to turn the cheek. All that matters is she can sing great, not that she threw it all away & did nothing with the fame.

FlexxAeon 02-12-2012 08:38 PM

fucking pornographers trying to tell us what true life accomplishment is.

god...

lol what a fucking bitter and twisted idiot you sound like

there is a rule book for fame is there? if you have a good voice and everyone buys your music you are obligated to feed kids in africa are you ? Is that what the fuck you are saying ?

what exactly is everyone turning the other cheek to again sorry ? Everybody knew she took drugs ? So fucking what ? I havent heard anyone say that drugs wouldnt have played a massive part in her death. Ironically her death and the subsequent media coverage might do some good as people start to understand that an endless intake of drugs will kill you years earlier than you would other wise die.

bronco67 02-12-2012 08:51 PM

I don't know if anyone else is watching the gay-ass grammys, but Jennifer Hudson just brought the roof down with a Whitney Houston cover.

no. what i said went over your head. nowhere did i write of any obligation for her to be a public role model. only that, in her death, a waste of life should not be given a royal funeral.

Got it fuckwad?

Rochard 02-12-2012 08:54 PM

I can honestly not name a single song that she sings. If I heard her on the radio I might say "Oh, that's her" but I couldn't name a single song.

I hate to be a bastard about it, but it's funny how when a celeb dies they remember the good and not the bad.

epitome 02-12-2012 09:01 PM

No illegal drugs found in the room. She was known to take Xanax before a big performance. She was to perform for the pre-grammy party in a few hours.

Autopsy was done today and there was water in the lungs, but they won't know much more until tox reports come back in 4 to 6 weeks.

So it's look like either accidental OD, intentional OD, natural causes or a bad mixture since she consumed a lot of alcohol the night before.

yep. its hard for impressionable people to distinguish between true heros & drug addicts when they are given the same kind of gushing farewell.

hey papillion or whatever...maybe if the media did not celebrate addicts like its OK they killed themselves, maybe youngsters might benefit. Instead, you get this forgetfulness of reality, only her 80s heyday matters. so river phoenix drops dead, heath ledger, michael jackson, on & on & on. because at the end of life, all the media focuses on is how they entertained us, not why they are dead way too soon.

here's a bright idea. instead of dateline NBC creating a 1 hour special about whitneys best moments of the 80s. how about a show that ties all the celeb deaths together with the scorge of addiction. How substance abuse destroys talent.

So when will lindsay lohan kick it. Its just a matter of time. Not like any scarlett letter comes from the media that covers her.

you are here complaining about people like whitney getting attention and before the thread even gets past the first page you are talking about Lindsey fucking lohan :1orglaugh :1orglaugh

It's a shame, no doubt.

maybe her cokehead child should care. If mommy was being a mom instead of doing lines, maybe cokehead child never does coke. or how about her millions of fans who stopped enjoying her talent the moment she hit the pipe with bobby b.

But you are right there with the masses. Who fucking cares how she ruined & ended her life. The important thing is that she sang well 20 years ago.

yeah thats right

she had a unique talent - her voice was incredible

anyone can take coke - not everyone can sing like whitney - you with me so far ?

she was a unique person with a unique talent who very clearly affected many millions of people in a way that meant something to them

and you want to focus on the fact she took cocaine

too simple. i want the MEDIA to focus more on how she died. you just recently said how her passing might set some people straight. Well apparently that does not happen, because despite all the dead entertainers, kids & entertainers keep dropping dead. All i ask is that the media maybe hold sober entertainers in higher regard then those that destroy their talent.

does that compute with you or am i still over your head.

Society tends to put celebs on a pedestal,Whitney was very talented regardless and it's a shame the drugs eventually took her life. I was always taught to respect the dead and she deserves it.I hope nobody pisses on your grave when you die

Because he didn't. And don't worry, the media still says it. Washed-up simple brains still believe it.
