So guys, how do youy like your steak ??

I like mine medium rare, heat the bbq up as high as she will go, then place them on my cast iron grill, making the criss cross as I cook.

Had a couple of Nicely marbled NY Striploins on sat for Mrs Fubar and myself:thumbsup Then I just read this :disgust

Choopa Phil 03-13-2012 06:13 AM

Medium rare for sure. Anything else should be a crime to humanity.

pornguy 03-13-2012 06:17 AM

Food and reading about food is NOT a good thing. Drink a lot of beer or something and keep eating.

Doug of Montreal 03-13-2012 06:36 AM

Medium rare rib eye. Fuck it up and I will cut you.

:)

bronco67 03-13-2012 07:08 AM

rare.

Overcooked meat is a bummer.

12clicks 03-13-2012 07:13 AM

medium rare for filet, medium for rib steak.
I only cook on charcoal and if you took every health warning to heart, you'd die of starvation.

exactly..

i found myself reading that article and then just stopping myself in the middle of it. Is this news? We all have known for years that over consumption of red meats wasn't healthy, does it really require further research at this point? A few times a week does no harm the way I see it.

As long as you are eating plenty of vegetables you are ahead of the game.

Nikki_Licks 03-13-2012 07:35 AM

Blue Rare :thumbsup

RebelR 03-13-2012 07:41 AM

Tenderloin = Black and Blue
Strip = Rare
Rib Eye = Med Rare

Pretty much the higher you go up in fat, the more I cook since you want some of those fats rendered down.

As for the charred meat causing cancer, that's too bad because it tastes soooooo good. I make fun of the people that eat their steak well done, but according to my doctor, if you are going to eat red meat, its best to have it on the well done side, as most of the fat (and also the flavor,*sniffle*) are gone by that point. So looks like they will have the last laugh as they out live me.

Nicky 03-13-2012 07:46 AM

Medium all the way.

Evil Chris 03-13-2012 07:59 AM

Strip loins aren't marbled.

You call that a steak? :1orglaugh

2ndxachrm 03-13-2012 08:27 AM

medium rare, the with a little salt n pepper. A good tenderloin is the only real steak i like with bacon wrapped around it.

lucas131 03-13-2012 08:41 AM

ElleSorbet 03-13-2012 08:46 AM

Medium rare for sure...gotta have that pink. Last summer I got hooked on using this brown sugar bourbon marinade - so delicious on the grill - a nice side of mashed sweet potato and some asparagus. Ah, can't wait for the nice weather again.

Sophie Delancey 03-13-2012 08:47 AM

I like mine soy.

J. Falcon 03-13-2012 08:49 AM

Zoxxa 03-13-2012 09:01 AM

I like it with a hint of elephant tail flavour.

sperbonzo 03-13-2012 09:01 AM

If you have to cook it more than medium rare, then you got a crappy cut of beef.

Theo 03-13-2012 09:07 AM

do you marinate it and how?

CDSmith 03-13-2012 09:08 AM

Medium is perfect.

For the finer cuts medium rare. Filet, porterhouse.. My fav is NY strip.

u-Bob 03-13-2012 09:09 AM

NO, no marinate, as I pick steaks, that I think will cook great. There is a butcher 5 mins from my house, where I can get fresh cut steaks 7 days a week. I prefer the taste of the meat, the only thing I put on it is, Rock Salt, Ground or chopped garlic and Coarse pepper. Love it juicy and Medium rare. :thumbsup:thumbsup

Tom_PM 03-13-2012 09:20 AM

Wasn't the warning once again actually aimed at highly processed meats such as sausage and hot dogs? The headline is misleading I think.

Medium is just fine for good meat.

Spunky 03-13-2012 09:39 AM

Medium for me as well
