Feng-PD 05-18-2012 06:20 AM

well it was more than that, since they basically ask you "what is your max you will pay per share" I knew I wouldn't get it all, thought they would at least toss me some crumbs.

BAHAHAHAH
Perfectly summarizes why the entire western economic "system" is a massive fucking joke.
Ironic that you are upset you don't get to own a piece of this anti-competitive human herding pile of horse shit.

CaptainHowdy 05-18-2012 06:29 AM

If you bet on capitalism, you'll lose ...

seeandsee 05-18-2012 06:30 AM

8000 share will be worth 50$ by end of month, you lost 100k :) j/k

I hope you aren't implying what we currently have in the US is anything even remotely close to true free market capitalism.

HushMoney 05-18-2012 06:33 AM

could it be because the stocks don't start trading until 11am EST?

Worked out pretty good for me so far... great thing about capitalism is no matter how big of a fish you are there's other bigger ones out there that you can nibble away at.

You get what you put in IMO. You can whine about the fairness of it all, or go do something about it.

No, they inform customers who applied for early IPO shares this morn if they are getting a chunk that was allocated to the bank they are with. After 11 you won't be able to get them for the $38

Best-In-BC 05-18-2012 06:35 AM

I think FB is a passing fad and this is a greedy last move

Your avatar is mesmerizing :thumbsup

pornguy 05-18-2012 07:06 AM

After 11 you will be lucky to get them at less than 80.

This is done so a few can make the most.

That does not mean that others will not profit. If you get 10 to 100 shares at open, and sit on them for a few hours to days, you can triple or better your money.

Phoenix 05-18-2012 07:13 AM

cant even find them to buy
what symbol?

Phoenix 05-18-2012 07:17 AM

I was able to find it in TD, under Markets / Research - Stocks, then used the search, I put in FB and it auto brought up Facebook, I couldn't find a pre order option, and the buy/sell is greyed out, but I imagine that will change at 11 am

Houdini 05-18-2012 07:38 AM

To get in on the IPO you needed to have $250K in your trading account, make at least 25 trades per month, and then it was a lottery. BUT the maximum amount of shares you could get was only 500 anyway. So, don't feel too bad.

that is certainly not me.
i could only afford 10k also..lol

so i guess im out.

PR_Phil 05-18-2012 07:43 AM

it's interesting what this is doing to other social corps, if you bought friend finder yesterday morning, and sold this morning, you could have made upwards of 80% in 24 hours,

BIGTYMER 05-18-2012 07:49 AM

Game day boys. :)

ANAL PASTE 05-18-2012 07:57 AM

Should've been expected. No way average Joe can get on this kind of IPO at anywhere near opening price.
Whats it at right now?

offering doesn't start for 3 more mins :)

Vox 05-18-2012 08:15 AM

Shouldn't it have opened by now? Did the exchange crash?

MattO 05-18-2012 08:20 AM

I'll pick some up in a few months when they're 30 cents

Houdini 05-18-2012 08:31 AM

Opened at $42.05

TisMe 05-18-2012 08:31 AM

Traded just after 11:30 at 43.

Traded 80 million shares in first 30 seconds.

Vox 05-18-2012 08:34 AM

Look at it drop, lots of people cashing out and taking a profit

Kelli58 05-18-2012 08:37 AM

Facebook, which raised $16 billion in its initial public offering late Thursday, won't start trading on the stock market until 8 a.m. PDT. The delay is intended to allow for orderly trading given the investor frenzy and media hype surrounding the historic IPO.

That's probably why you couldn't make your purchase at opening bell.

Sasha18 05-18-2012 08:50 AM

i'll buy them at 15$ in upcoming months

Morons patting morons on the back; the crux of the US economy.

That whole fish nibbling analogy totally explains heavy taxation, arbitrary inflation, unethical lobbying, monopolistic practices, market manipulation and price fixing.

Hopefully we will bomb some more brown children with my money soon.
It's good to be free comrades...

NBHNC 05-18-2012 11:47 AM

So much for buying and selling for a quick profit as most thought.

All the big guys sold out and ran away as quickly as possible. It's a little above $40 right now. :1orglaugh

Keep on keeping on.
