It's about whether or not a decent percentage of porn stars as well as porn beginners seriously regret of what they did once they quit.

Can they have a normal family life afterwards?
I see many issues at various community sites with a male or a female accusing/discovering their partner's porn film experience.

Please contribute if you know real-life examples of stuff like and how it gets resolved

This is one of the reasons I will never really understand girls that do porn. (not complaining, it's just i would never do it) It is such a short term make-a-qucik buck thinking..now that we have internet it is even worse..

I think it really depends on the girl. Some do, some don't. Some have made a good living from it so why would they regret that?

Most of them though, probably do.

I think it depends on what they do with the rest of their lives. If they spend a ton of money to go to college and become a teacher then 5-10 years into their teaching career their past is found out, they are fired and can't get another teaching job, then I would guess they do regret it.

If they made enough money to live a decent life on the interest and returns of their investments, or they go into a field that doesn't care about their past then they may not.

I have kids and they never ever had a problem in school, nor did I with any of the parents. And I am talking parents that wanted me to be chaperoning on school trips knowing full well that I am in porn.

I know women that have led great lives post-porn and don't have any regrets. They are PTA moms, working women, soccer moms, etc. all functioning just fine, living regret free, free of persecution, and free of negativity and misgivings about their supposedly sordid pasts.

IMHO, you should just quit the biz if you see it so negatively yourself and are not actively trying to redefine the stereotype because all you are doing is contributing to the false presumption that "porn is bad".

But, how do you TRULY expect to do a "serious study"...without actually asking the people that you are studying?

How do you expect people that post on GFY, the MAJORITY of which are a mix of affiliate promoters, trolls, and probably surfers...about what porn stars feel then THEY retire.

Sure a handful of people here are actually IN scenes...but not a big enough percentage of people here could possibly "KNOW" the answer to what you are asking.

FAR-L actually IS a good example...a few others, but as far as a "serious study", all you probably are going to get is a huge pile of opinions from people who know nothing about the people they are basing these opinions!

Many of the girls who come into porn bring with them their troubles. Few girls get into porn for the love of being fucked by strangers. They do it mostly because they need the money. They then find out it wasn't so bad after all. Some women have actually found positives from being in porn. Love, money, career, direction in life, fame. Don't believe what you see on the TV.

A lot of the girls who never became stars and now because their real name is being used by scum who want a few more SE clicks are having troubles. Especially those who got into it before the widespread distribution of free porn.

This IMO has done more harm to the flow of new girls than anything. Any 18 year old who thinks doing a few porn movies to earn a couple $1,000 tops. Isn't going to get found out, is stupid. Any girl who doesn't think it will label her is even more stupid.

The other day I talked to a friend of mine who was a model in Phoenix fifteen years ago - a solo girl no one would remember. She now has a baby, but when you search for her by name her porn history comes up and there are thousands of pictures of her.

As with anything in life, some people live with regret, some do not. I'm sure it depends on what they did, where they are currently, what they are trying to do, and what just came back to bite them in the ass. That's life.

i would imagine it depends on their level of success...

if they have a fairly successful career and make some serious bank, then there is probably less reason to be regretful. on the other hand, if they wind up doing 4 or 5 scenes and then leaving the business, then yes they will probably regret those few scenes they did

People are very different and do unexpected things, so you never know.

I think the thing that is regrettable is that there are so many religious zealots out there who take offence to the fact she did porn and hold it against her. It was not porn that ruined her life. She made lots of money and had a good time doing it and it harmed nobody. It is all the delusional self righteous church goers who make it their business to make her life miserable because of what she did with consenting adults.

i can see where if they have kids that can come back to haunt them and cause problems but otherwise, fuck what other people think.

The hypocrites in society worse than the religious zealots - fundamentalists truly believe porn and most sex is sinful based on religious scriptures and teachings. I can't argue with that. it's the rest of the world living in their glass houses who watch porn themselves, who engage in sex for pleasure themselves, who cheat on their spouses, etc who make girls feel shame and just being mean for being mean's sake using 'porn' as a convenient excuse. none of those people care about the girl, they don't even care about porn - what they care about is they can make somebody else's life miserable and get away with it.

It's tragic when a girl loses a job or career over porn. How it's legal to terminate an employee for an activity that is legal is beyond me. I wish somebody would legally challenge these vague 'morality clauses' that employers use.
