|

nothing wrong with listening to metal, still dressing up like someone out of Wayne's World as you get older is a different matter though!

I Listen to Black Metal for over 15years now ..

Growing out of looking like a metal-head is one thing. But if you love the music then you love it for life, no? I may have cut the long hair off dedades ago but I can assure you my collection is still rife with hard 60's, 70's, 80's and 90's rock, including a fair chunk of metal. And I'm 51.
Grow the fuck up and cut your hair, sure. Cut down on the rockstar party life a tad and put more into growing your business, why not? But you should never lose the tunes. THE TUNES! |

I haven't. Still listen to metal every day.
Sorry to hear you've turned your back on being kvlt. Nice Burzum shirt, by the way. |

Maybe you should ask, when did you grow IN to Metal?
I've always liked all kinds of music but Metal started growing on me back in the 90's. My first ever Metal concert was White Zombie. After that, I was hooked. These days I check out a few metal shows a year, with the big one being HeavyMTL (now HeavyMontreal). The next one is coming up in August. Can't wait. Sure, some metal sucks, but there is lots of outstanding music to be heard. The best of all are the crowds. Some may look tough but I've never once seen any violence or fight. 2 Years ago some guy knocked my beer out of my hand and he instantly brought me a new one. I went and bought him one just cuz it was so cool and we drank together. Awesome. While Pop is for teens and Rap is for... well.. who knows... Metal music and metal shows are all ages. There are metal headed young adults and dads with kids. The best though of course are the metal babes. A hot chick wearing an Ozzy Tshirt, cowboy hat, Top Gun sunglasses, Daisy Duke shorts and cowboy boots and .... sexy girl heaven. |

nope, still wearing corpse paint every day ;) :D

What does length of hair have to do with it? I had really long hair until I was 28, but cutting it short didn't mean that I wasn't into metal anymore....
. |
HOW and WHO the hell grows out of metal?? If you or anyone grew out of metal you were never a true metal head..

I've grown back into it in the last few years, but my states have changed to Sludge/Stoner metal. I can still appreciate some Metallica or Testament, but it's not my thing that much anymore.
and for anyone who thinks rock is dead, you haven't been looking in the right places. If you like Black Sabbath, there's a hundred bands who not only sound like them, but are doing it better. |
I never grew out of it.
|
Never listened it
|
I dont hear metal, I AM METAL!!!!
|
I used to hate (and still do) 80's Metal and was never a big fan of Black Sabath, Dio, etc. It's only in the past 15 years or so I started getting into. White Zombie was my first real Heavy Metal Concert (1995 I think), and I've been hooked ever since. My favourite type of Metal is Industrial (Rob Zombie, Marilyn Manson, Rammstein, etc).

I can't get enough of these guys lately
|
i'm in&out with it. but never fully in or fully out.
|
I never got into it - Never understood it.
For the most part, our musical tastes are based on our parent's tastes to a degree, and then is heavily influenced on what our friends listen to in grade school and then high school. For me, my first memories of music was the Beatles, Simon and Garfunkel, and then.... I remember my mother cranking up Bohemian Rhapsody - I've loved Queen and Bohemian Rhapsody for years, long before Wayne's World. I love the 80s pop music. I won't even tell you what I am listening to right now; You would just laugh. |
I still listen to metal. I also listen to rock, rap, motown, and oldies. For the past week or so, however, I've pretty much kept the car radio on NPR.
Side note on NPR: as an American I tended to think Brits were very well spoken and eloquent, but after listening to quite a bit of BBC World News lately I no longer think that. Loads of stammering and stuttering, punctuated with liberal use of 'uh' and 'um.' |

Vibrated the rearview and side mirrors in the car with some Scorpions on the way home from work earlier.
