9 year old's & Firearms.
A 9 year old shoot her instructor in an accident, what sane person would take on a 9 year old as a student to learn about weapons. If this had happen in a European country childservice would taken their kid away, as her parents would not be fit to have a child.
I doubt the law makers that control the weapon use(r) will ever change this law, they are the root to the evil in America as long as every one can go into a weapon store and pick weapons that are ment for war and mass destruction then people will be killed. Canada has more weapons pr citizen but they use their weapons for hunting, America that has a violent history hide under a old law that was made when the white man stole land from the red man. To protect themself from attacks, the war is over the poor red man was moved to a control'ed enviroment where they where given a bottle of gin. http://www.cbsnews.com/news/girl-9-a...ms-instructor/ |
Meanwhile, tens of millions of other gun owners learned how to properly use a weapon under the age of 10 as well.

We gave the Indians whiskey not gin.

I used only airgun at young age, and not the kind of airgun you can hunt with in US. Although my dad didn't even have a gun.
But hey, I got this. http://i01.i.aliimg.com/img/pb/858/4...497858_986.jpg |

these tragedies just keep happening ..

I had a BB gun at 5 and was shooting a .22 LR by the time I was 7. It taught me gun safety and appreciation for the damage a gun could inflict. I feel that if you own a firearm and have a young child in your house, it's paramount that you teach them gun safety.
|
I grew up with guns in the house. I was taught the safe handling of firearms at an early age and those lessons stayed with me. I was also taught the safe handling of power tools, cars, swimming in water, etc.... All of these lessons were for my safety.
I"m not sure why people from other countries, that have TONS of problems of their own, are so fixated and fascinated by what happens in the USA. Since you don't like the rights that we have here in the US, I would suggest that you thank goodness you don't have to live here, and then just carry on with your day, happy and relieved! :) . . |
I grew up in a household and neighborhood of hunters in suburban NJ. Every adult male I knew was a hunter. I learned gun safety as a child and by the time I was 9-10 I was on the police youth rifle team shooting .22s.
The problem isn't guns it's owners that shouldn't have guns. |

Children throughout history used to hunt right along side their fathers by age 6-7 and were defending themselves and family at a very young age. Just because either the instructor or the kid weren't paying attention or the kid mischievously wanted to see what the firearm would do, doesn't change this fact. If they would have shot something and watched what happened to it prior to handing the kids the gun this would not have happened. My son has been shooting since he was 8, BB guns then Bow and Arrow, now 22LR. Soon he will be holding my Beretta 9mm and 7mm Magnum learning to survive and defend himself if needed. Also, it has been proven that hunters from the deep south who have lived in the wilderness and used firearms from a young age make the best snipers and have a high rate of survival in combat. :upsidedow |

Really!!!! What world do you live in where personal protection and survival skills are so unimportant? Do you think police can protect you from people who want to harm you? "When seconds count, don't worry the police will be there in minutes." What if the guy is way bigger than you and/or a real badass? You need a gun. OMFG!!!!:Oh crap |

I was in boy scouts too, although we often teamed with girl scouts as we weren't gays. But to the point, we didn't shoot with guns. |

I learned to shoot ~9. But I don't think I'd teach my 9 year old daughter to shoot yet, I haven't seen her take my instructions on anything seriously enough to trust her with a loaded gun.
Also I wouldn't take her to a gun range, cause there's too many people I don't know there shooting, I don't know what kind of training they've had or what kind of safety they practice and I'm just not willing to risk anyone's life but my own for that sport. |
