perhaps the hospital was sitting on its hands because they had a patient with an advanced case & the hospital knew they would have to dish out 100K or whatever absurd fee the experimental medicine cost, & they made a financial decision.

He also did not receive ZMAPP, the drug used to cure Missionaries Brantly and Writebol of Ebola because the supply was exhausted. I don't know if he received a transfusion either.
