Obama To Announce Boots On The Ground In Syria

US is sending special forces to Syria, under the premise of fighting ISIS. In fact, everyone knows they are being sent to support the rebels, fight the Russians and take out Assad....

First rule of US Fight Club:

(1) Never talk about fight club ie don't tell the public.

(2) If you can't piss off the Chinese, Try the Russians.

(3) If item (2) fails, then attack someone else.

(4) If item (3) fails, then we need a new attack plan.

I don't know enough about military flight operations, but that's only one sortie daily each aircraft. Granted some will not fly every day, but that still does not seem out of the realm?

Russia does, however, get more leeway in what they consider targets. Nobody expects them to be doing "good." Nobody gives a shit what they do. The alliance on the other hand, is at the "top" and being watched with a magnifying glass.

seems extremely exaggerated to claim that beginning on day 1 of the air campaign. having to setup ops, sort objectives and fly those all instantaneously seems like a bold claim only military spin doctors spin. just like the ones told to BO and the American people about how our air campaign was doing in Syria

either way, the move by BO seems a reactionary move to Ruskies.

After Russia started, there was a lot of articles and opinions coming out. Most every article by any military personnel in the world essentially said he needed to take action or the US was the new bitch. It was inevitable the minute Russia started moving.

according to CENTCOM, ruskies had flown only ~80 sorties 2 weeks into the campaign.

https://www.washingtonpost.com/news/...ikes-in-syria/

Ruskies claim they flew 80 missions that day.

During 24 hours, aircraft of the Russian aviation group in the Syrian Arab Republic have increased the intensiveness of engagement of command centres, materiel concentration and storage areas of the ISIS terrorists : Ministry of Defence of the Russia

i agree, i had commented elsewhere earlier that they need to get the job done and get out, maybe they can run 80+ sorties a day with 50 aircraft in adverse conditions.'

the total airstrikes USA had on Syria for the year long BO campaign was ~2500.

Obama is only sending 50 ''advisers'' that will operate near the Turkish border (with the Kurdish resistance-rebels).

Sound familiar? They are an advance force? There is speculation of Syria being partitioned like Germany was after WW2 -- there are talks being held between the US, Russia, Saudi Arabia and Iran about Syria -- Assad and the rebels were not invited :upsidedow

Are they being sent there to die? To drum up support for a ground invasion?

Or will they accidentally-on-purpose be sent to an area that's a likely target for Russian bombers, to make the Russians look like the bad guys for fighting ISIS?

Either way, I feel sorry for those people being sent. And I hope they survive that shithole.

Anyone remember when we went into Kuwait, blew the shit out of the Iraqi army, and left with mission accomplished in like a week? Those glory days are long gone. Any Middle-Eastern military operation the U.S. has been involved in after Kuwait has been nothing short of a total clusterfuck. So hey, let's start another full ground invasion "we don't even know what our goal is" clusterfuck war in Syria fighting ManBearPig.

That's really astute. Good chance they'll try to set up the Russians in some way, shape or form so they can increase the war.

Stalin was the reason Russia lost 20 million during WW2... Don't cry that the U.S. Was smart enough not to make unarmed troops be bullet shields for the few Russians who actually had guns.

Stalin's tactics were.. Make everyone run at the German machine gunner in hopes he runs out of ammo..

For better or worse that has been the story of foreign affairs under the Obama administration.

Remember, the Republicans called it "Leading from behind".

In my humble opinion...I have no idea what the fuck our military is doing there anyway.

It's none of our business. I hear the war mongers on the news channels screaming that: "We are giving Syria to Russia"

That's odd; I didn't read any articles that implied Russia was making the United States their bitch.

The truth is this is a Russian problem. Syria has always been in the Russian sphere of influence. It's stunning that Russia allowed this go on for so long without taking action. Putin is all about "taking action" and is trying to give off the impression that the government is strong and it's military is strong. You would think Putin would have been all over this.

How would Russia sending in it's military into a country it's dominated for decades make the United States into Russia's bitch?

From a military standpoint, this is stunning. Russia and the United States will both have military forces operating in combat roles in the same country. From a political stand point this is stupid and dangerous - We have different goals in Syria, and Russia if fighting forces are supporting.

We need to stay out of this mess.
