Would you dare trying Swedish traditional food?
Would you dare trying Swedish traditional Délicatess?
Are here any Sweds, who really eat THIS once a year, as I read? :1orglaugh https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_haw_YDC_zo |
I had some pickled scandinavian fish once, it was fine tbh :thumbsup
|
Is it possible to get anywhere outside Sweden? Definitely would try it :)
|
All those people almost puking , makes me want to try it real bad:helpme
|
"It looks like boogers"
:1orglaugh:1orglaugh |
Wouldn't mind trying that ...
|
I remember a video a while back with the same stuff and one of the guys that ate it puked uncontrollably everywhere.
That said, I would eat it. I was actually going to order some. But didn't... |
I'd be puking my guts out
|
Does it really smells so bad??? :)
|
I am Swedish and I never tried surströmming. Most swedes had not tasted it I guess.
I was invited to a so called surströmmingsskiva but I left the party early because of the smell... I've heard from tourists many think that this is something we eat on a daily basis. Which is not true. Its exotic even for me. Surströmming is most popular in the north of Sweden, on the east coast. Btw ... The icelandic rotten shark Hakarl is even worse. http://businessinscandinavia.org/wp-...rstromming.jpg |
Some eat it like once a year yea, but I'd say most Swede's have never even tasted it. it's salted and fermented fish, it doesnt taste as bad as it smells, usually you eat it with boiled potatoes, white bread and a dressing made from creme fraich, fine chopped red onion and some salt/pepper.

I'm not Swedish and I never tried surströmming. On the other hand we eat salted herring which is a national dish here like Sweden.

I would say this is traditional swedish food since 20 years back. 20 years from now I am not sure if Sweden still exists. The destruction of Sweden is a too big subject for this thread :) |

I warned for this like 20-25 years ago. But nobody listened. |

I had a nice feed of Seal this summer, so I would probably give that Swedish dish a go, np.

Fermented food is one of the greatest things you can eat, but it taste and smells like shit
|
The black guy when he takes a bite, LOL

What is the difference between fermented and marinated herring? How do the preparation process differ? Just less salt (barely enough to prevent rotting)?
|
It shows why those Vikings were real Men, and giving to a bunch of American pussies would get the intended response.
How many of these have you eaten? I can say four. The fruit, feet, eggs and octopus. Add to that snake, monkey, various bugs, shrimp heads, snails and frogs. Here in Czech they have a dislike of lamb. A few eat it but buying it is tough. |

Probably no pork in the very minority kebab shops owned by muslim imigrants, but saying that you can get it in ANY kebab shop... Plus - the thing you have for kebabs is not actual meat as in that he wants to buy (for a lamb steak or whatever). |

To be honest when I (or 99% of people in Eastern Europe) hear "kebab shop" they imagine Doner kebab places and 0% of them even think about shashlik places.
Anyways - you also confirmed that you can not get lamb in ANY kebab place. |
No way im gonna eat that

P.S. To make it straight. Christian/atheist Russians prefer shashlk made of pork meat while the Muslim ones (mostly from Caucasus) prefer it made of lamb. Pork is a dirty animal for Muslims and Jews, while lamb is too fat an unhealthy for an European stomach. |
