Schengen does not need to vanish forever, just needs to be suspended until 2017 when Merkel's reign of terror ends and someone else steps in and does something to actually secure the external borders. Granted, the Mediterranean countries are fucked because you can't really secure a sea border short of sinking migrant boats...

The liberal politicians in the EU are starting to realise, that this risks the split of the EU. Cameron wants a referendum ASAP because if the migrants start arriving there, most will vote to get out.

Austria, Poland, Holland and others are putting up limits on migrants or talking about it. Even Germany is starting to realise the mistake Merkel made.

The EU needs to tackle the problem properly. Islamic Turkey isn't a war zone, however, it is a country that's unpleasant enough for Muslim refugees to want to stay in.

The EU needs to be doing a deal with Turkey, or Greece, that funds the building of massive refugee camps and making sure anyone who gets out and tries to go North. Gets taken back to them.

A refugee is fleeing war, not walking across Europe to find the best benefits system.

Depends where - most of the border between Poland and Germany is along the Odra river for instance. Poland has mountains all along it's southern border too - not exactly easy terrain to cross on foot and it's not like there is gonna be mass migration on quad bikes.

Alot of countries have their borders on rivers like this, maybe less so in western europe but they've always been 'natural barriers'
