pornguy 03-14-2016 07:03 AM

" Good People " When referring to an individual.

j3rkules 03-14-2016 07:03 AM

You need to think outside the box. I absolutely hate that one.

GFY only, or just generally on the internets?

"touch base" is one that shits me.

The entire world. :thumbsup

Another one that gets me is - "You won't believe what happens..."

atom 03-14-2016 09:36 AM

I know right?

Rob 03-14-2016 09:39 AM

Hashtag...

Mutt 03-14-2016 09:47 AM

excessive pointless use of 'basically' and 'literally' - 'I literally spent 3 hours waiting in line'

same for 'exactly' as a response to 'literally' 'basically' anything - 'nice day out, i should go to the beach' idiot responds 'exactly'

'epic' is played out - as played out as 'played out'

'bae' 'the feels' and other internet orgin speak should all die

in business especially online media business terms like 'space' and 'vertical' are used any chance they get by poseurs

Ah. Okay then I'd like to toss out the following way overused annoyances...

At the end of the day
I recently heard a radio DJ use it three times in the same sentence.

under the bus
I'm watching Survivor, these people are about as far from civilization as you can get, there's NO FUCKING BUS people.

it is what it is
What the fuck else would it be? Just die already. Have a shit-hemorrhage and die. Thank you.

Just sayin'
How quaint. Thank you for pointing out that you are saying the thing you just said. Genius at work here.

I'm sure I have more but I'll give someone else a turn.

I also hate it when people say "Bruh"...

PR_Glen 03-14-2016 10:14 AM

'meh' needs to die a horrible horrible death. it's not a word and means nothing.

Rob 03-14-2016 10:19 AM

Behind the 8-ball. I hate it when people say that.

These above for sure....and I will add

"...thats what they say..."

Who are "they?"

"Because it's my passion"

Cooking risotto is not a passion

"I reached out to...."

I just don't like this phrase

good list..."it is what it is" definitely needs to be retired.

my excess use of "parentheses" also must be retired. :)

SilentKnight 03-14-2016 06:44 PM

"Make no mistake..."

No, the first mistake you made was assuming I tend to make mistakes.

ITraffic 03-14-2016 06:49 PM

the use of "best in class" in ads.

what I notice most in the 'vernacular or dialect' is the use of the word 'but'... doesn't the word 'but' negate the previous statement of the sentence?

#23 03-14-2016 09:01 PM

Prefacing a statement with "honestly."

Should I assume you are lying moving forward if you don't preface with "honestly?"

yeah that one goes with 'literally' - if somebody doesn't say 'literally' when making a statement 'I literally ate the whole large pizza myself' i guess we're to assume they are lying/exaggerating

My ex used to say that all the time. So fucking annoying.

Another overused term is, "Ya feel me?"

Mutt 03-15-2016 06:51 AM

the rhetorical 'Really?' has become annoying

sperbonzo 03-15-2016 07:16 AM

"Everyone agrees that..."

(There is never a time when everyone agrees...)

"It' a known fact that ..."

Those are logical fallacies that people use in arguments/debates - https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_fallacies

we all use them to some degree but i argue with a member of this board who is just the worst offender when it comes to logic fallacy tricks - 'moving the goalposts' and throwing out 'strawmen' at you while in an argument drives me nuts, when somebody does it to me i know there's no way i win the debate and it's completely futile to continue on

yes it's Sly :winkwink:
