Samsung or Iphone?

My Iphone shattered again :mad::mad:

Thinking of switching over to Samsung S7 Edge. Any reviews or experiences of people who have switched. I've had Iphones since the first one, but think I'm ready to leave.

Any input appreciated.

fuzebox 07-09-2016 09:35 AM

I made the switch in 2012. I like Android for nerdy reasons though.

My only advice is to stick with it and force yourself to get used to the new stuff, the learning curve and the transition period can be frustrating.

Currently on a Nexus 6p.

Love my S6. Samsung has better resolution

ErectMedia 07-09-2016 10:05 AM

Have had the 4S, 5S and now the 6, will probably go to the 7 when it releases.

Android phones

Here's 3 recent articles

https://consumerist.com/2016/07/08/s...the-dunk-test/

The company claims the S7 Active (an AT&T exclusive) is water resistant in up to five feet for 30 minutes, so Consumer Reports went ahead and did just that, submerging the phone in a pressurized tank to simulate that effect. The phone failed that test? twice.

Iphone does not allow to download from torrents. Samsung does not care where you've got all those music albums, movies and apps :2 cents:

moln4r 07-09-2016 11:08 AM

Go with android i say.

Hannes 07-09-2016 11:12 AM

samsung is overall a much better phone

FlowerKid 07-09-2016 11:18 AM

Samsung S7 edge. Todays iphones are crap and not state of the art technology.

C H R I S 07-09-2016 12:42 PM

Thanks for all the input, went with the S7 Edge. Love it so far... the fact that it take memory cards and can output directly to flash drives is a big plus. Resolution is fabulous and its fast as fuck.

Water resistant is a big plus as well.

Bye Bye Apple...

Dropped my iphone fishing the other day , screen shattered in three different places

levd 07-09-2016 12:46 PM

...goodluck with your S7 edge. I switched from iPhone 6 to Lumia 950. Windows 10 mobile is just awesome compared to ios.

Love my Galaxy S6. Best phone I've owned over the years...amongst many.

JamesM83 07-09-2016 02:00 PM

Samsung right now has waterproof but on the other hand, iPhone has the iOS which is a lot better (certainly slower, yet more user friendly) than Android. :thumbsup

To those of you that break your phones do you put a tempered glass cover on the screen or phone front entirely? I always do this and I've never broken a screen with multiple horrible drops.........the tempered glass cracks but the phone is fine.

yuu.design 07-09-2016 05:21 PM

go with an iphone

Look Chang 07-09-2016 06:25 PM

Samsung is far much better than those overpriced iphones partially compatible with Internet :2 cents:

kane 07-09-2016 06:54 PM

I've never used an iPhone, but a good friend of mine had an iPhone for years and recently switched to a Samsung S6 and he says after a few weeks of getting used to it he would never go back to the iPhone.

Rochard 07-09-2016 09:51 PM

I've been in the Android camp ever since I can remember, but I decided to get an iPhone for my work phone if only to force myself to use an iPhone. After a year of using the iPhone I've discovered it cannot do anything my Android cannot already do, and otherwise it sucks.

I can't use it for my running because in three different places on my main route I have no connection.

Is that a joke? iOS doesn't allow to download movies, music etc from anywhere except its own appstore. It doesn't allow to install applications from alternative sources. It even doesn't allow to copy media from one device to another. How this shit can be better than anything? Even MS-DOS and CP/M were more advanced and powerful operating systems than iOS.

P.S. Still using old Samsung Galaxy S2 and can't find a single reason to replace it with a newer model. It just has much more than I actually need.

All the malware on Android is enough to keep me away for good, and I was a diehard Android deciple. I had Android phones and people here laughed when I said Android would be huge.

Well, it's so big and so open that malware creators target it with ease.

Mediamix 07-10-2016 07:04 AM

iPhone all the way! :thumbsup

at this point its safe to say, tim cook is a disaster. apple fell out of the lead on his dime.

You can do all those things with iOS. Have you ever used it? Seriously, any of those things can be done without jailbreaking. Do that, and I can do more than my root Android phones ever could.

Last Night I was visited by the ghost of Steve Jobs and he told me that he was quite unhappy with the direction the company had taken after his murder. Yes, murder, he was injected to with mutated stem cells which caused his cancer. Government most likely.

Bottom line is that Apple is now owned by the US government. That bullshit about asking Apple to unlock a phone was simply a false flag move to make it seem otherwise but Jobs was killed because he had refused to allow it...the rest is history.

I got the S7 edge and I'm very satisfied so far, but I've always been an Android fanboy.

I'm still on a long Nokia phase ...

mineistaken 07-11-2016 09:17 AM

Why would people pay so much for a phone? Example - Nexus 5x (or whatever) is +- half the price of S7 and what? It is almost the same, even better camera etc.
For 99 percent of average population there is no need to overpay and have "the best". People do due to marketing brainwashing.

I agree with you.

I have a Galaxy S5 and it has been giving me some problems... So I went and looked at new phones. They cost $600 and up, and frankly don't do anything the phone I already have does.

Instead I went to a local repair shop. I bought a new phone case (my phone is old so they are cheap!) and a new battery, and did a complete reboot to factory specs. I downloaded the APPs I used the most, a new background.... And frankly it's just like having a brand new phone.

You can say the same with computers. My computer is now five years old, but frankly it's still as fast as the newest ones on the market. Instead of buying a new one I might just add in a SSD and be done with it.

made the same move CHRIS to Android recently. My main reason was for business productivity. oh, and the camera. Apple is slipping...

After a weekend with the Samsung I am completely happy, getting to know the different OS takes awhile but overall it beats Iphone hands down especially on speed and ease of use. I think Apple is going to see mass exodus over the next few years. Not that it will hurt them that much.....

Adnium_Ivana 07-11-2016 11:00 AM

I'm the opposite - had an android ever since they came out and recently switched to Iphone (actually I'm rocking both atm - my old Sam for personal life and the Iphone for work) and I'm having the opposite problem - I'm jsut like whyy can't you be more like my Android :P As for bugs and glitches I can def. say my samsung G4 is much worse (freezes, cant wtich between e-mail account, slow etc) whearas I haven't enocuntered any glitches with my Iphone yet - that could be because I've dropped my samsung a...few times though :p
