The July 7 meeting was undisclosed until Ian Bremmer, a political scientist and president of the Eurasia Group, told Charlie Rose in an interview released Tuesday that the two leaders met on the sidelines of the global summit in Hamburg, Germany, following a dinner with the heads of state attending the conference. That second, private meeting took place after Trump’s formal sit-down with the Russian president, which lasted more than two hours. The White House then confirmed to NBC News and Reuters that the meeting had in fact taken place. According to Bremmer, the second meeting lasted an hour, and the only person present aside from Trump and Putin was a Russian interpreter. This "meeting" was at the big dinner for the leaders of the G20 and their wives. No other "officials" are even allowed at this dinner. And each country is allowed ONE translator. Trump's translator was an English/Japanese translator and useless for the conversation with Putin. This all happened at the dinner table with every leader and their wives seeing it in full view. Meetings with the leader of our main global adversary, who most likely got Trump elected should have some kind of presidential record, or at least a basic read-out. Trump choose to go be with Putin, not any of your major trading partners. Everyother country comes away from the G20 announcing what great trade deals they have done for their country. A meeting that could have been reported as two great leaders thrashing out the worlds problems over a pleasant dinner. It could have been political gold for both of them. Under the circumstances to not report this meeting, and for it to leak out as another rather iffy nail to the Trump cause it really is quite unbelievable. Having several people in a meeting like this is a good idea and helps keeps everything clear between all parties. The second meeting was private, except for a Russian Translator.
