When Can We Travel Again?
 

Amazingly 80% of domestic flights in the United States are already full! Most airlines have stopped the every-other-seat-is-empty policy. But is it really safe to get on a plane and sit RIGHT NEXT TO SOMEONE for hours in a flying metal torpedo??

You still have to quarantine for two weeks if you come to America from another country (Eddie Murphy not withstanding). But even when these restrictions are lifted would you feel entirely safe to take advantage of the "new normal" and start flying around the world like you did pre-2020?

And what about the European shows in the Fall (Amsterdam, Prague, etc)? Are we still going to have them or will we need to wait another year until 2022? I, for one, am sick and tired of talking to people in boxes on screens.

When will life get back to normal? Will "normal" ever be here again? Will I ever be able to fuck a whore in the Red Light District without wearing a mask??

I am seeing covid cases going UP while millions of people are being vaccinated daily. :( So a few weeks ago I would have said we would be past the worst of it by May-June. But now? :helpme

No shows for 2021 is my wild guess, Czech Republic is a cluster fuck at the moment with covid19. France just entered total lockdown and Germany looks like will follow.

- Coffeeshops will be closed for tourist and red light district will be gone. Has to do with the political party's in Amsterdam, not with corona. They don't want stoned tourist in a red light district. Only visit the museums.

- Everywhere Americans here on holiday in Mexico. And many Canadians that stayed cause they couldn't get a flight home. That is possible, but than first fly to the USA. (that is how it works, cut direct flights so people have to travel more).

- They want to let people wear mask for some more years and stop events. So i guess the next even better be held outside Europe? There could also be corona test, also anal available when you don't want to get something in your nose.

- Life will be normal when everybody thinks, we have enough of it, and just ignore every rule.

Yes, end of may if they allow international travel within Europe. Germany is in lockdown now, even the hotels are closed. So many went to Mallorca.

The clue is, they don't want more tourist in Amsterdam. They have enough. So the political party's try to stop it, also by banning airbnb. And than they want the group of museum and culture lovers instead of the red light and coffeeshop visitors.

Here in Greece from this Monday (5/4) will open the small shops again for click away or appointment to buy something but u have 3 hours per day to do your shopping like this (clothes, electronics, etc).

Also SMS to go out (for the doctor, work, personal workout, supermarket shopping, etc) for 2 hours stills.

Tourism will open this summer from May and I think if u want to work in the tourism industry or food & drink industry u must vaccinate.

Here every day we have about 3000 cases and 40-70 deaths.

Till now about 1.135.593 people took 1 dose and 641.909 the second.

But opened new mega vaccination centers for more people take the dose every day.

Yes I understand what they want to do but it will not be successful and will cost the Dutch Government billions of dollars. People want sex and drugs more than they want to look at a Chagall painting or see the tiny room where Anne Frank lived.

Nederlanders love money more than they love museums, politics or anything else and when the Red Light/coffee shops go away watch what happens to the country. :(

They didnt get rid of the RLD, they are just moving it to a more hotel like setting outside the city. Tourists will still find their way there.

I agree that the Dutch dont really want stoned/drunk horny tourists but they really dont want them in the center of Amsterdam. I think this is more of a land grab than anything else. The De Wallen has very expensive property, and they dont want prostitutes and drug dealers owning it. This is basically gentrification.

Unless Europe gets its act together, I doubt there will be shows in Europe in 2021. I dont think travel to the EU will be all that possible. I live in the NL and we are being told (lied to) that everyone will be vaccinated by July.

I got my first shot last week and I am high risk (cancer/kidney issues). I dont even have an appt for the 2nd jab. I simply dont see how any EU country can get to herd immunity through vaccination any earlier than Fall 2021.

We are not allowed to travel.. I live in country with huge number of active cases so ther will be no vacation for as this summer

I have to reach out to you and touch base. Sorry I have been so absent (you will understand why when we speak). I understand why the Dutch are gentrifying the centrum but they will see a dip in revenue that will be alarming. Sure tourists will go to the outer rim and beyond for sex & drugs but not enough to replace the constant flow of Centraal Station tourists who pop in for a debaucherous weekend. :)

Some experts say it will take years since this crisis is much more serious than the one in 2008. The airport numbers will pick up during the summer, for sure. When it comes to the 'normal' life - it looks like covid is here to stay, but we'll get used to it.

Personally, I had my first shot on Friday, and my 2nd is scheduled for the 30th. I realize I will still be able to catch it and spread it despite being vaccinated, but will benefit from drastically reduced severity and duration - just like with the flu-shot.

Been travelling the entire time. Never stopped flying. Never stopped working.
