Covid Passports
Wow... Another thing to lose :1orglaugh:1orglaugh:1orglaugh
Heard on the new we may be required to carry a covid passport to travel, get into concerts, ball games... Good idea? or a better way to categorize and separate us? I mean I can see the need to keep people safe, but on the other hand, I have a problem having things mandated on me. So it's like getting a degree... if you want a job you better have a bachelors degree.. now if you want to travel, you must be injected with out drug. So torn over this. :Oh crap And to make this clear... this is not political... this is about the vaccine and these new passports :winkwink: |
I have no issues having one :thumbsup

Better everyone there is vaccinated than have an anti-vaxxer show up.

Of course not. You’re a collectivist |
The politicians in Holland must be anti-vaxxers. They stopped gving that Astra vaccin cause it could melt your brain.
Why should vaccinated people worry about non vaccinated people. |
"Passport" is probably a good name for this seriously premature idea.
There is still so much unknown about COVID-19, as evidenced by the increase of mutations (aka variants of concern), the expanding age range of those potentially at risk of contracting/spreading the virus, and above all how the various vaccines work over the long-term for the original COVID-19 and the new variants. None of this is known yet. With science-based discussion of the possibility of COVID becoming endemic, requiring regular re-tweaked vaccinations, kind of like flu vaccines, a "passport" would have to be "stamped" with each shot like travel passports. And all of this highly personal information would have to be stored, maintained, and accessible by "authorities" internationally. Like this will never get hacked... In my view, until a credible time proven track history is available to assert vaccine safety/efficacy (not through speculation but actual large scale case studies), any discussion of "passport" social gatekeeping related to vaccination status is not rational. -Dino |

For international plane travel, USA and other countries have required vaccinations in the past and some still do.
The good news is cunts that used to fly coughing with flu the whole trip or with screaming sick babies are no longer getting on the flight. Hopefully they also mandate a shower and deodorant within 24 hours of flying. |
Same people cryin' that it's too hard for people to get an ID to vote are fine with people requiring "vaccine passports" to travel.

And of course this is political (to the OP). It's nothing but that. |
The pressure for people to vaccinate is enormous. The people will call you anti/vaxx, nazi, saying you are killing old people (while in fact politician failed protecting them), people want to take of rights people who won't take a experimental vaccin, people are talked into fear.
Stop the pressure to take an experimental vaccine! Stop russian roulette! Stop Killing People! ------------------- "Breaking - EMA senior official says in interview with Italian daily it's 'clear' there is a link between AstraZeneca vaccine and blood clots but cause still unclear, indicates agency will announce in 'coming hours' -" "In my opinion, we can say it now, it is clear there is a link with the vaccine. But we still do not know what causes this reaction." (...) He said that "in the next few hours, we will say that there is a connection, but we still have to understand how this happens. (...) "We are trying to get a precise picture of what is happening, to define in detail this syndrome due to the vaccine. (...) Among the vaccinated, there are more cases of cerebral thrombosis... among young people than we would expect," __________________ |
We already do have these kinds of requirements to travel to places like Africa. People act like it is the deep state making these requirements for them. No, it is common sense and viruses that are creating the need for this. Keep calm and prosperous.

Only smaller change they end up in hospital (for now). This Astra vaccine could kill more young people than Corona did. Maybe they should get a passport to forbid them to travel and party. They could become superspreaders. Hope there will be a working test soon that works in minutes, is simple and accurate. |

We are not okay with vaccine passports for Corona because we feel it's political. Also, corona is already all over the world and out of control so I can't "spread" it to another country. It makes no difference if I drive to the city next door or fly to Europe. Why I need a vaccine to fly to another country but not if I drive the the nearest city or even pop by my local 7-11 is beyond me. It makes no sense. This is about politics and that's why we resist these types of passports. They don't make any sense. |

Wrong use of the name "Passport".
"Passports" are for use in Airports, Train stations, Ship yards, to leave one country and enter another. Doing that, and going to a local Pub or going to see a show, are two very different things. They need to come up with a new name for the digital documentation of Vaccination and test and Trace. |
I have no problem with it at all - and intend on renewing my passport with the updated information as well as my family. This has been blown out of proportion and from groups that cry there is no god but listen to science - suddenly don't want to listen to science.
Weird. |
Great idea... if you don't like it tough Stay home watch you tube. You think thats bad wait till they come up with idea of you can get health insurance unless vaccinated.

Some private transport companies have rules. But transportation is also regulated federally. For example they can't make a rule that allows only people who were born in January to fly. That is not up to the private company and so they can't do whatever they want. They have to abide by government regulation too. All US citizens have the right to travel and to board a plane with reasonable limitations (can't be aggressive on board etc.) You cannot be denied boarding for being a woman for example and so if the airline makes that rule then the female passenger can take them to court where they would lose and have to change that rule. She has the right to fly. So if the government says people need to be vaccinated in order to fly then I would argue they are violating the rights of US citizens by taking away one right (flying) unless the citizen is vaccinated which should be a choice. |

This sets a horrible precedent and will not bode well for the future of public health. |
And BTW,
The Texas Rangers packed a stadium with 30,000 fans yesterday, some with masks and many without. https://www.nbcnews.com/news/us-news...-home-n1263157 They opened up fully a few weeks back and cases are ..... dropping. But of course, nobody wants to look at that situation, or Sweden's, or South Dakota's etc.. It's easier to not look at facts that contradict your view. Then you can go on to tell everyone online and in person why lock down is a good idea and be a "good person." Covid cases in Texas chart - https://www.google.com/search?q=texa...UDCAk&u act=5 |
I find it constantly ironic how the same people who tend to bleat about capitalism being bad are always so fast to say that it is totally cool for private companies to do whatever the heck horrible thing they feel like.
Like how do those two viewpoints fit in one head without their brains exploding from the cognitive dissonance? |

This is about another document to carry, lose, and/or replace. Another record of us on file. But of course, when most people have a cell phone attached to their body most of the day, their life is already being recorded and tracked. So many documents to carry... they will make it so we will beg for a chip implant to update everything at once. :winkwink: |
I would be fine with this.
If you are so stupid that you refuse to get a vaccine... Then you shouldn't be allowed to go into resturants or bars or baseball games. Here in the US our kids have to get certain vaccines to go to school. It's not a big deal. |

This is nothing new in the US.
Most public schools require proof of vaccinations for kids to enroll. Same with colleges and again for grad-school. Many health care workers are required to get their flu-shots. I think it's the term "passport" that people are freaking out over. Biden has said there won't be any requirement of this sort at the federal level. I imagine in most cases it will be like an express lane. The fast lane you show proof of vaccination and you're in, the other lane takes your temp and you have to show proof of testing negative within X# of days. |

If it will be necessary for all over the world (or most of it) it would not last for a long time. When there will be no covid in the air those rules will be useless.
