Yo Brad ! Been a LONG time since we talked last time

Rich 04-08-2004 01:35 PM

Congrats Brad, but why the name change? Sinhost was fairly well branded, the name Mojo is associated with the program mojosearch that ripped off a bunch of people. :2 cents:

Hello Everyone!

I'm super excited to be back on GFY. Thanks again Eric and Lensman for your support and well wishes for the upcoming births. Now that I'm back, you'll be seeing me all over this board day in and day out!

As you may have already heard or seen in the top banner advertisement, SinHost is now MojoHost. Same ownership, staff and excellent service with a new name. In celebration of the new name and site I have made available several special offers with my excess bandwidth and hardware:

All are fully managed with no setup, no contract:

$149/mo Dedicated includes 1mbit (95th)
$399/mo Dedicated, includes 5mbit (95th)
$699/mo Dedicated, includes 10mbit (95th)

$99/mo Virtual, includes 300 gigs

Finally, you can register or transfer your domains to us as we are now an official reseller of GoDaddy... that means .COM domains for $6.95 for the entire month of April.

The hardware on the $699/mo server is fucking phenominal and it also comes with Redhat Enterprise 3.0 and a control panel all free of charge.

That's enough spamming of our hosting service....

...If you aren't familiar with my revolutionary new way to bill, go check out http://www.123bill.com. There isn't anything out there like it and I expect most merchants will be adding us by year's end to capitalize on their non credit card US traffic.

Best wishes to everyone and you'll be seeing more of me day in and out here on GFY.

Cheers,

Brad Mitchell

Well, I know you are a reseller... But what do you REALLY think about godaddy? It's been lots of talk about them here on GFY lately. We've never had a problem with them though. Yet...

To be honest.. I have been a customer of BulkRegister for several years - a very happy one. I went to them to setup a reseller program and felt what they had to offer was a joke.

Basically, I setup the reseller account and did two things:
1) transferred a domain
2) bought a new domain

I think it's important to know the customer experience. I had it and thought it was as good or better as what I was used to at BulkRegister. After all, I'm going to be a customer with my several hundred domains. Additionally, I didn't add the domain registration service to MojoHost with the goal of adding revenue... but rather just providing a convenient, inexpensive service to my clients.

I sent out a survey to SinHost clients (this was before the switch) and found that there were just as many of them paying $9 as there were paying $15... on an interesting note, there were very few in between. After discovering how I could deliver the same quality service for $7-8 I was sure that I had found a win-win.

that's my :2 cents:

Brad

It was a tough decision to make. I have blood, sweat and tears into the 'Sin' brand. For as many people that liked and understood the brand what I learned was that on the hosting site I scared quite a few off. People didn't realize that was just a niche brand of my large, legitimate hosting business.

I think what got me to pull the trigger... aside from loving the name MojoHost and actually picking it up on the 'Snap'... was the legal aptmosphere online. I run a tight ship here with what I consider to be excellent clients. I decided that I wasn't willing to risk the possibility that if I had to step up on a client's behalf in a court of law that I'd be discredited simply because of a name.

On the practical side of things... it was a pain in the ass having multiple company names. Now we can focus our energies on one brand that encompasses the best of everything... and, to be honest, I'm excited about marketing MojoHost.

Cheers,

Brad
