yeah me too, two things either leakage or pump failure

notabook 06-17-2006 06:15 PM

I was terrified when I first starting to build water-cooled rigs, scary as fuck honestly since I was getting paid to make them for clients. I have not had any problems yet but I still get nervous as hell when I first test the pump lmao. I don't think that feeling will ever go away.

I prefer to have a 30" with two 20" LCDs on the sides in portrait mode like
http://img246.imageshack.us/img246/4...ge00009to6.jpg
Than two 30", plus it's less expensive to have this setup.

donross 08-23-2006 06:57 PM

some nice monitors here...

Yeah I always thought a nice large 24" or 30" screen in the middle with a smaller or same screen to each side is better than two large screens because the way most people setup two large screens they are looking at two bezels when looking straight ahead. I like how the width of the 20s are close to the height of the 30. What monitors are those?

E$_manager 08-23-2006 09:31 PM

It looks great.

edgeprod 08-23-2006 09:32 PM

I don't have pics of the 30"s (sucks to have them both on the desk when you have a shitty desk, hehe), but here's my setup of 24"s that I use much more often:

i couldnt imagine having two 30"'s , my one is enough for me, but i find a secondary monitor for messaging essential!

I always wonder why people in this biz have dual or even 3rd, 4rd monitors..??

There is no fucking point in having them, unless you are a sotck trader...

Unless you want to show off..

All can be done with no problems with one 14 monitor..

Those having 3 monitors in a row, are the same people who travel with their 12" notebooks and finish doing the same work when they are abroad, with no problems. :)

Tons, the picture is deceptive. It lacks perspective, i.e., you can't compare it to anything "known." The monitors, although HUGE, look small because the desk itself is so large ... if that gives you any idea.

Although I no longer play football professionally, I'm still 240lbs-250lbs at 6'0 with much of my bulk, and I fit under there with room to stretch out.

LOL get a clue. It'd be very difficult to do what most of us do with them, without having the second or third monitors. Are you the type of person that maximizes every application so it takes up your entire screen? I bet you are.

I can do all with 1 monitor and 1 computer. And I'm sure there is no point in having two monitors.

And I use in average 5 aplications and 10 exaplorer windows at the same time, in same desktop.

Can you tell me how do you suppose to speed up or improve your work by adding another monitor? After all, we have just 2 eyes, and both eyes always look at the same direction. So, if you are not pointing to one monitor, you are looking at the other. Only one at a time.

In those pictures I am seeing they use 1 monitor for playing and the other for business. :)

Well even though some may not prefer it, you cannot deny the fact that 2, maybe not, but possibly three monitors can speed up your work tremendously.

Say you are ftping videos up to a site, while in the other 2 monitors editing videos and using one as the preview screen... that's pretty handy isn't it. Once your file is uploaded you can just glanced over and see it is and pick another, or fill in the description etc... play games while you monitor business in the other one(or two).... 3 maybe a bit much, if you can afford it, then good on you. Two monitors is almost a must though nowadays, if you can't task like a mad man, then the next guy will as he is leaving you in his dust! :)
