Apparently some Senator got pranked with a Goatse link, so he tacked on an amendment to a sex offender bill that outlaws linking to obscenity without telling people what you're doing. And Bush signed it! (or so goes the rumor around teh intarweb!#%)

Actually I just went in and read the law and its a maximum penalty of a fine and 2 years in prison for obscene content under subsection 1 and a bigger fine and 4 years in prison for section 2 which stipulates for minors.
