So I decided to quit smoking today

well actually yesterday afternoon.

everything has been going well until the last 5 hours

I'm fucking freaking out now and my skin is crawling. I decided to go play racquetball with JimW and I totally lost my shit and destroyed my racket by repeated banging it on the floor and throwing it against the window when people would walk by.

how long until the edge comes off? because Im about to go buy some crack soon

Sands 07-13-2007 12:08 PM

Wow, doesn't sound like you're dealing with the symptoms too well. Maybe you should look into a quitting-aid like gum or patches. Good luck though, stay strong, and stay in control!

Scott McD 07-13-2007 12:17 PM

That don't sound so good. Just chill. You can do it... ;-)

SilkyJohnson 07-13-2007 12:20 PM

You should have gotten really drunk the night before you quit and made sure you had a nasty hangover. The kind that you can't even smoke cigs when you have it...and that way you can ride out that 1st 24hrs. And excercise is good, using those lungs in a good way will help out...you're body will be telling you this is what they are for not filling them up with soot.

That's how I did it...not sure if it will work for other folks but might be worth a shot...good luck regardless!

I'm FedExing your wife a gun.

EdgeXXX 07-13-2007 12:45 PM

Try Commit lozenges. They taste like a cross between chalk and chewing tobacco, but they work. :thumbsup

Shok 07-13-2007 12:50 PM

I read somewhere that this gonna take 3 days!

EdgeXXX 07-13-2007 12:53 PM

Hold on there, Shok, are we talking about you quitting smoking cigarettes or other guys?

:1orglaugh:winkwink:

ThePornPusher 07-13-2007 01:20 PM

so I should replace fags with cock?

interesting

Brother Bilo 07-13-2007 02:42 PM

It will take a few days for you to get off your man rag, but after that it's not that bad. I would suggest not drinking for about a month to make sure the cravings are gone. I would love to follow my own advice, but it's so good once it hits the lips. I can't stop drinking.

xsabn 07-13-2007 03:26 PM

Quitting smoking isn't all that hard. I've done it hundreds of times.

wdforty 07-14-2007 01:05 AM

Just read allen carr's book. google it.

D 07-14-2007 01:28 AM

Invest in altoids.

"Inhale" the fumes they put off.

It's no where near as good as smoking, but it helped when I quit - 7 years ago.

And good luck.

Just remember - it's you that made the decision to quit. You're stronger than the addiction, and smoking again will mean that you'll have to revisit all of the recent anguish you put yourself through and have already put behind you.

Day by day, bro.

yumma 07-14-2007 01:29 AM

two weeks and you'll be ok - just need to replace smoking with something other, not bad for you health :)

CuriousToyBoy 07-14-2007 05:26 AM

Good luck man.

I have a feeling you'll be needing it.

;-)

Theo 07-14-2007 05:34 AM

Compdoctor 07-14-2007 05:44 AM

took me four tries, and each was harder than the next. Keep at it, it does get better.

TeenCat 07-14-2007 06:09 AM

after 10+ years of heavy smoking im 7+ months clean without any problems ... wish you best with your quitting! :thumbsup

yys 07-14-2007 06:23 AM

Good luck. I'm going on two years in August since I quit. First few days were the toughest. Next hardest part is when you go out with friends for drinks; you just have to make sure you have a few non smokers with you. Stick with it though. Your food will taste much better, you won't stink like stale smoke and you won't hack up half a lung every few hours. Plus you'll probably live longer as an added bonus.

Shok 07-15-2007 07:50 AM

Day 3 and so far so good...my skin is still crawling and I'm very short fused.

My twins bday party was yesterday at Chuck E Cheese. The stupid fucker was not spending any time with the kids and I called him a cocksucker so he left and would not come back.

I felt bad

well not really

Shok 07-18-2007 09:01 AM

Almost a week now

cured

Martin3 07-18-2007 09:07 AM

I quit a few years ago after smoking for about 10 years.

Some advice from what I went through. STICK WITH IT, it's really only bad for about the first 3-5 days. After that the cravings are pretty much gone. Just stay active during that time to take your mind off it. Try not to get shit hammered drunk with in the next few months though, that can bring the urges back. :1orglaugh

::edit
I should have checked the post date. Congrats on making the first week. Pretty easy after that.

Gentle_Ben 07-18-2007 09:12 AM
