I officially refuse to sell exclusive Content in USD from now on!!!

just a little example - numbers are not totally correct:

lets say a scene costs $1500, 3 years ago that were about 1300 euro. models costs about 500 euro

today that is 1070 euro - and the model costs went up to 650 euro

and then people complain why i dont shoot b/g scenes for 1000 bucks :1orglaugh :1orglaugh :1orglaugh

from now on i will calculate my prices in euro - and the USD can go fuck itself

and btw - we're are booked until 2011 anyways - with euro clients :pimp

Corleone 09-20-2007 09:16 AM

makes sense mate.. eur is fucking high.. its insane..

Amputate Your Head 09-20-2007 09:18 AM

Europe will ultimately collapse as well. It's just a matter of time.

I agree. It's scary in just a few years EURO producers went from having a huge price advantage to having a huge price disadvantage. Isn't it great when the US has a shitty president?

Trax 09-20-2007 09:21 AM

the 1.40 seriously starts to piss me off
the dollar is worthless and its not going to get better... just worse

If things keep going the way they are, you can always accept Canadian dollars instead of U.S. hehe

Isn't it great to have a President who can be blamed for every ill of society, no matter how trivial or tangential to his influence?

but the effects of the volcano (death & destruction) will be fairly instantaneous, whereas the collapse of Europe will be a long drawn out misery.

funny thing is, only people outside of the US are bitching and whining, for service providers in the US (designers, content shooters, etc) business is as good as ever :thumbsup

Eight years of bad decisions and bad planning helped crash the dollar, some were the presidents fault and many were completely unrelated. He's pretty much been printing out money to cover his little 500 billion dollar war project, that's one big reason we can pin on him.

Cheaper for us to buy those services now too ;) Although our paycheques are less... We're going to see a lot of rising prices in the US very soon on imported goods, and the US imports a hell of a lot.

AlienQ - BANNED FOR LIFE 09-20-2007 11:23 AM

I do not think many of you understand economics and politics.

Sorry, but I think you are wrong on this one.

It isn't that the Euro is strong, as it is relatively in the same place against most other major currencies in the world. The issue is that the US dollar has dropped like a stone in value against 15 or so of the most widely traded currencies.

It isn't a European issue, it is a US issue.

LOL!

It won´t affect uS productions at all, as long as they are working in the uS completely. if they go abroad and hire some European talent and maybe do the shooting there, they will have the same problem as Stefan has.

This is true.

As long as your assets and liabilities are in the same currency then the fluctuations don't matter....so long as inflation at home is tame.

This only hurts the people who have to convert their money when they do business.

Even the biggest crock Greenspan, who caused whole situation by lowering interest rates to 1%, was against rate cut, exactly because of : "inflation and recession" .
Average Joe is the one who will pay the rate cut hardly, thats for sure.
