Business Partner's Yacht Blows Up

Apparently he was fueling his yacht in the harbor, and it exploded. He and his girlfriend were both badly burned.

http://video.woodtv.com/?video_id=14614

Talk about a fucking devastating wake up call.

:Oh crap

I am in complete shock. :(

~Ray 10-06-2008 07:27 AM

hope they get well soon

tranza 10-06-2008 07:30 AM

Sorry to hear that....hope them to get better soon!

Barefootsies 10-06-2008 07:35 AM

Thanks guys.

I am just completely fucking stunned.

I started getting e-mails and phone calls from the models this morning asking me about him, but I had not heard anything about the accident. I had not talked to him since Friday (the last shoot) or Sat about something else..

But apparently he, and his gf and kid were all out on his yacht. It blew up while refueling. He is ALWAYS out there on that thing in the summer. But I guess the gf face and arms were badly burned, and he was lite up and got the worst of it.

Tried calling, but nothing. So talked to a few others, and apparently it's questionable if he'll make it right now.

I am a cross between crying, and just complete shock.
:(

stickyfingerz 10-06-2008 07:36 AM

Critical condition...

Barefootsies 10-06-2008 07:40 AM

Critical: Vital signs are unstable and not within normal limits. Patient may be unconscious. Indicators are unfavorable.

The term "vital signs" means indicators such as blood pressure, pulse, temperature, and respiration. The one-word descriptions are not medical terms, and they are more art than science. They're based on a doctor's best judgment of a patient's condition, as relayed to hospital spokespersons.

Thanks man. I really appreciate it.

JamesK 10-06-2008 07:41 AM

Holy shit bro, that looks horrible. Hope they both get well soon! Must be hard for the kid too :(

My sisters house caught a fairly big fire a while back, got me brain fucked up for weeks. I can't imagine what my sister felt like.

L-Pink 10-06-2008 07:41 AM

Very, very sorry about their situation.

As the son of a Coast Guard Commander I well remember my fathers constant reminders of the dangers fumes pose while starting/refueling.

pornguy 10-06-2008 07:42 AM

Damn man. that sucks ass.

I heard from one of his other business partner's the kid, the gf's anyway, was ok. Just some scratches. So that's good. I met him (and the gf) a few weeks ago while he was helping with one of business partner's properties.

Wow, that is insane how a boat can go up in flames like that, especially with your kids on board. I wish him the best.

I have never owned a boat, but all my friends do. I own/have owned only jetski's over the years. I fill them up at the pump on way to lake.

Yeah. I have heard some of the stories about making sure things are 'grounded' with boats. Something about static electricity?

brassmonkey 10-06-2008 07:45 AM

gas is very dangerous stuff hope they get well soon

Eric_ALSSCAN 10-06-2008 07:47 AM

That's crazy man... they'll have some good stories to tell though!

Yeah.

Of all the people, especially as much as he is on that boat, and around boats (he has a speed boat, pontoon, and the 44' yacht) that he would be involved in something like this. I mean, there are no guarantees in life, especially with gasoline.

But fucking damn..

That would about summarize it.

Morning was going fine. Good night's sleep. Niece well behaved this morning. All good as I dropped her off at daycare. Then I get home, e-mails and phone ringing with this madness.

Kinda like being blindsided.

Just really a mix of being numb, emotion, sadness, fear, uncertainty...

Wow! How horrible! Not only for them, but for their families too.

Fingers crossed that they come out of it ok.

MrMaxwell 10-06-2008 10:06 AM

MANY MANY people in "critical condition" survive..
I've had several people in that condition make it..
My grandfather had a 20% chance and made it before.
The doctors came out and pretty much told us "he is going to die".
My father has had "life threatening cancer" SEVEN TIMES and he's FINE

The guy has alot to live for, and, that MAKES THE DIFFERENCE.. so he has a very good chance, I am sure.. Hang in there, man
