Good TV Series Cancelled early

Firefly was good, cancelled after only 1 season. I liked Joan of Arcadia, gone at 2 seasons. I liked Day Break, only 1 season.

Any others?

They had three seasons didn't they? Show started out and didn't really go anywhere.

I didn't know it had been canceled though, that sucks.

Traveler. Ended after a season, if that. It didn't even get the chance to answer any questions. lol i loved the show

Reminded me of Prison Break.

and John Doe was a great show, the older brother of Prison Break's first show of his own.

Darkland 02-10-2009 12:09 PM

SykkBoy 02-10-2009 12:21 PM

Get A Life, cancelled after 2 seasons
Profit, cancelled after like 3 episodes
Lucky Louie, cancelled after 1 season...ok, the acting sucked, but it was still pretty damn funny

NoWhErE 02-10-2009 12:33 PM

Angel, got canceled in the middle of season 5 when the show was at its peak due to network political bullshit

Sick Bastard 02-10-2009 12:33 PM

SANFORD AND SON.

Fred and Aunt Esther had 7 more good years left in 'em...

The Loop only had 1.5 maybe 2 seasons. One of the few shows that made me LOL for real.

You can watch most of them on Hulu.

Rochard 02-10-2009 12:44 PM

I loved Firefly. I have the season. I had never heard of it until I saw on sale in the store for $10. I figured if it sucked it would be good for background noise.

What ever happened to Sons of Anarchy?

tranza 02-10-2009 12:45 PM

Studio 60... That was a great show, from the same creators as West Wing.

Carnivale was great but wasn't intended to continue. For what I recall, it started as a movie and then turned into mini series format

My husband has probably seen every episode of Firefly..plus the movie..more times than they have actually been aired.

that was one of the best shows ever put on tv

Deadwood was the worst cancellation because of how the set up the next season in the last episode

I loved it,what a great script.
Traveler and Vanished were pretty good

mynameisjim 02-10-2009 01:17 PM

Wow, nobody mentioned Arrested Development yet. One of the funniest sitcoms ever.

Also, The Dana Carvey Show. It's on Hulu now but the writers were Stephen Colbert, Robert Smigel, Steve Carrol, Louis C.K. and others who are big names now. Was pretty wild for back then and in primetime. They would lose sponsors every week even though today it wouldn't be a big deal.

You could make a full list of worst cancellattion reasons on that one. That totally was fucked up. Even history wise it was fucked up to leave it as is.

Brad 02-10-2009 01:31 PM

Surprised only one person mentioned Arrested Development.

Emil 02-10-2009 01:35 PM

Not really a tv-serie, but I loved Futurama. :(

PornMD 02-10-2009 01:41 PM

Not the greatest show on TV, but Shark only lasted 2 seasons and I had thoroughly enjoyed it. The 2nd season had a lot of good episodes near the end too. James Woods rules.

Would have been nice if Whose Line Is It Anyways continued...not that it had a short run by any stretch of the imagination (like 18 or 19 years between UK and US versions), but easily one of the funniest shows ever.

Doctor Feelgood 02-10-2009 01:50 PM

My Own Worst Enemy

cause i like gunfights, car chases and expensive things blowing up!

pocketkangaroo 02-10-2009 01:53 PM

I was a big fan of Journeyman.

casinojack 02-10-2009 02:07 PM

Tom_PM 02-10-2009 02:12 PM

Futurama was a great tv series but fox could never figure out that it deserved and belonged AFTER the simpsons.

Same brilliant fox people cancelled Family Guy. Gee whatever happened to that one.

Doctor Feelgood 02-10-2009 02:19 PM

i think they should cancel Ghost Hunters

and replace it with a brand new Star Trek series
