Sarah_Jayne 04-09-2009 01:48 PM

Horrible..watched my grandfather go in a similar manner and it still takes my breath away to watch others go through it too.

d-null 04-09-2009 01:48 PM

fuck, that is sad

I have a friend in his 30's that found out he had cancer and it doesn't take long to go from being perfectly healthy to being on your death bed, can happen to anyone

JFK 04-09-2009 01:49 PM

sad state of affairs:2 cents:

travis 04-09-2009 01:49 PM

No worries. The bluetooth headset retains his cool.

brassmonkey 04-09-2009 01:49 PM

Manowar 04-09-2009 01:50 PM

damn, thats bad :(

borked 04-09-2009 01:55 PM

very very sad. Not his fault and I think the press should leave him the fuck alone.

Just goes to show that nomatter how perfectly balanced the body is in its homeostasis, that a single simple thing to go wrong, like a single frikken cell forgetting when to stop and die, can have such massive consequences.

Remember that when you're toking on a bong or doing a few lines or even opening up another pack of Marlboros. (general comment not aimed at anyone at all)

Xxaru Media 04-09-2009 01:58 PM

Can't they give him the stuff they give aids patients to get their size back?

Mutt 04-09-2009 02:02 PM

that's the monster that cancer is - and it gets worse than that, unless you are with somebody in their final few days you have no idea what that disease does at its end. think of the biggest strongest athlete or body builder- it will eat away every last ounce of muscle good genes, steroids and a lifetime of hard work created. by the time cancer finishes its work on a person there is absolutely nothing left on your bones but skin, all fat and muscle are gone. a friend of a friend died recently after a long fight with cancer - i have no reason why he sent me an email with an incredibly detailed well written description of the friend's last couple of days alive. when there's no fat or muscle left you have just bones and nerve endings - this guy's last spoken words were screams of FUCK YOU at the ambulance people because he was in so much pain when they picked him up. the pain must have been something insane because for the previous two days he was literally comatose. he wanted to die at home.

nobody should have to go through that, once somebody is terminal with cancer and there's nothing left to be done every patient deserves the opportunity to be given a way out before things degenerate into a horror show. i think Washington state just passed such a law.

Scott McD 04-09-2009 02:04 PM

Damn, just terrible... :(

Still hate the way these magazines glorify someone downfall. "DOWN TO 105lbs".
Yeah he is so leave the guy in peace for the short time he has left. People forget, that pic means someone was following him and taking pics right in his face. You think he enjoys that??

How would others like it if someone in their family was dying yet it was all over the front pages like this ?

Jade Goody who recently died here of cancer on the other hand was just an attention seeking whore...

collegeboobies 04-09-2009 02:24 PM

The only sad state of affairs is that at every gas station, grocery, and convenience store in North America some poor fucking guy dying of cancer has his scrawny dying face and personal life issues plastered all over dozens of magazines every day, making some fuckhead corporation millions. And really, they can't wait for him to drop fucking dead so they can smother everyone with pictures from the funeral.... :2 cents:

Drake 04-09-2009 03:17 PM

On a happier note, that's promotion the anti-smoking lobby don't have to pay for and probably couldn't buy if they tried.

Or even just walking down the street inhaling carbon monoxide from car exhausts.

At least I'm going to have fun while I'm here. :thumbsup

A visual reminder to live every day to its fullest - and never miss an opportunity to tell family members how much they mean to you.

Man, I'm sorry to hear that.

:(

I didn't even believe that was Patrick on the cover of the Enquirer at first. I figured it was just some guy who kind of looked like him that they used to sell issues. I can't believe it's really him, poor guy. I've never been a huge fan of his (although he was awesomely bad in Roadhouse), but nobody deserves what he's going through. Tragic.

VicD 04-10-2009 01:17 AM

Taht doesn't look good....sad..

Yes. Every civilised country should have that law. So long as 2 or 3 doctors will sign it up then people should be allowed to ease themselves out. Or be on such strong drugs they don't know what's happening. Eva was in a drug induced coma after her accident. She had no idea what had happened, her pain or situation. It can be done.
