175 sq/ft Apartment!!!

http://www.nypost.com/p/news/local/m...E3c 17zkw4efP

This is crazy. You could drop a deuce, brush your teeth and shower at the same time.

Waddymelon 12-08-2009 07:20 PM

lol @ paying $150k for that

ArsewithClass 12-08-2009 07:26 PM

London prices are similar. You can pay half a million GBP for a 2 bed apartment.

Thats damn small isnt it, lol! I wonder where the cats sleep?

d-null 12-08-2009 07:27 PM

that's about all a guy really needs though, if the price is right for the quality of the location it looks to be a great option out there :2 cents:

:1orglaugh:1orglaugh double for paying $700 a month in condo fees...

BFT3K 12-08-2009 07:32 PM

Wow, I would fucking HATE that place!

What a weirdo life.

I really feel bad for the poor cats.

Imagine when you get into a big fight... you can't even go to your own space!

No back yard - no closets - no real bathtub - it's like they paid $150,000.00 to buy an inconvenient jail cell.

What a couple of total losers!

That place has got to stink!

L-Pink 12-08-2009 07:40 PM

I can almost smell the cat piss .......

.

BlackCrayon 12-08-2009 07:41 PM

I assume they did this to avoid a commute to work? Doesn't seem worth it to me. I'd rather spend 2 hours commuting and have nice big house.

Gerco 12-08-2009 07:52 PM

Fucking stupid.

I bought a 1700 sf A Frame on 4 acres with nothing but a view of Trees and mountains included a second building with a 2 gar garage, and a lean too for 34k. Has 20 meg cable internet access, so what more could you really ask for?

they did it because it's cheap and they thought it would bring them closer. instead of assuming maybe you should read?

Sly 12-08-2009 07:57 PM

Can you guys really compare a place like that to a house out in the middle of nowhere?

If I was an executive... or even a nicely paid employee... that was working in New York City but preferred to live outside of the city... I can definitely see getting a small place in the city to sleep at a few nights a week. On the weekend go back to the main house.

On another note. You're in New York City. How much time are you really going to spend at home?

crockett 12-08-2009 08:02 PM

heh there were places like that here in Daytona in some of the Condos that used to sell for 120isk on the beach.

VikingMan 12-08-2009 08:04 PM

pay that much cash for a closet in an S hole city?

XD2 12-08-2009 08:08 PM

Seriously though if I lived in an apartment that small I would definitely get some cats to share all the space with.

sounds like paradise!

d-null 12-08-2009 08:17 PM

this thread got me wondering how the best place to find small places to rent like this in different cities that might be in nicer areas and buildings?

say I need to live in NYC or LA for a few months and want to find something like that for much less than a hotel would charge.... don't see the need for anymore space than that anyways, eat out all the time, go to the gym if I need to move around, and only sit on the internet or sleep while at home, so 175 sq feet is plenty

J. Falcon 12-08-2009 08:18 PM

A comfortable prison cell is what that looks like.

The Judge 12-08-2009 08:23 PM

110th St.? That's Harelm :1orglaugh

HandballJim 12-08-2009 08:24 PM

I thought I was going to see something in Japan, instead something 15 minutes from me. :1orglaugh

I took a look at these condos in Riverdale/Bronx, just above Manhattan and they want over $500K for 1,000 sq. ft. http://www.latituderiverdale.com/ (and school system sucks) so never mind even looking in Manhattan. Decent suburb areas like Westchester and Long Island, houses are $500 + in nice areas....and just when you think you can afford the house...you realize you cannot afford the taxes.

NY will be the last state for real estate to correct...by that time who knows what kind of bad shape the country will be in.

I lived the better part of a decade in an 8'x12' cabin on a cruise ship. It was okay.

Yes but you still had access to the rest of the ship.

Where I live you get a house 15X that size built on 4 acres for that money.

Jack OAT 12-08-2009 08:46 PM

I would think I would need to go to a gamer board full of 15 year olds to read so many ignorant posts.

Yes, and I had my meals served in the mess. Plus, I was getting paid to be there, not paying to be there.

camgirlshide 12-08-2009 09:16 PM

if the condo fee for that unit is $700, what's the fee for a real unit?

jtrade 12-08-2009 09:42 PM

that sucks... what if they got into a fight? one of them would end up dead lol

Georgia 30 miles outside Chattanooga. I'm 2 hours from 4 major Cities, not including Chattanooga. It's like living in a postcard. I watch the sun rise over the mountains in front of my place every morning, and set behind the mountains behind my place every nice. Only other thing I see are my trees and yard.

xmas13 12-09-2009 12:36 AM

This is completely ridiculous. 150k for that is nuts, and 700/mo in maintenance fees? WTF costs them 700/mo to repair or keep running in that closest?

Some may say they're smart but they're nothing smarter then idiotic. You can have a small place and still be comfortable but this is just absurd.

In a lot of places you can get an apartment that's 5X that size for $700 a month rent or less.

srhcom 12-09-2009 07:31 AM

Go to detroit and you can own every house on a street for 150k.
