GTbill stops processing for clients
Dear GTBill merchant,
Due to recent compliance changes initiated by Visa and Mastercard effective the beginning of January 2010, our bank has temporarily stopped processing live and recurring transactions for your site. Our bank wants to ensure that no transactions are processed until your content is fully approved and reviewed based on the new compliance regulations set forth by Visa and Mastercard. We have already submitted your URL to our bank for immediate review by Visa and Mastercard. We are confident that all of our clients? sites are in compliance; however, we must wait for official approval and compliance checks from both Visa and Mastercard before enabling any live and recurring transactions for your sites. This is a formality requested by our bank and we will keep you updated as they review your sites and reapprove them. We regret any inconvenience this has caused, and know how valuable your ability to process transactions is. However, we have to follow the rulings from Visa and Mastercard. We will keep you updated as things progress. Best regards, GTBill Compliance Quote:

Is this a few select clients or the entire client list of GTBill? Seems very odd that Visa/MC needs to review sites and wants to stop processing until they do?

Maybe just a glitch in the system. Hope it gets sorted out.

rogue glitch

This is to do with the FTC/Visa/MC/BBB crackdown. This is happening all over at major banks and they are passing it down to processors. We had a merchant account turned off waiting for verification also.
Not a GTBill thing at all they just get the shit end of the stick. |
:winkwink:

Hey all, just to clarify it is not all our clients.. It is only about 10 to 15%. The reason is we had some aggregation of questionable content being run through our system by one of our merchants and the card brands picked up on it. So they told us to remove the URLs from the portfolio.
The banks now want to review the URLs that they thought would pose a risk. Even though all the URLs they want dont have any issues as far as we can see. It has been an ordeal because, as you all know, usually a processor would get notice before something like this and would warn the merchants of questionable content and then the merchant would remove it. And usually it is Visa/MC that wants to view the URLs, not hte banks themsselves, but our banks actually want to review some of them. The reason is, our banks have become quite conservative with all the messes of late (Acai, Colon Cleanse, etc.) So unfortunately we must comply with their wishes.. Even thnough it will cause a problem for some of our merchants and we deeply regret the issue. Rest assured we are not going anywhere and people are being paid so no IBill situation or anything like that. The boss is in meetings with the banks as we speak going over all teh URLs that the bank questioned and they will sort it out. Hope this clarifies it. |
when sponsors doing "free signups" and have 2 uncheckable cross sales + invisible text saying $39.95 unless you cancel in 1 day that's what happens.
|
wow... glad i didn't go with them...
|

So if it was one merchant how did it effect 10 to 15% of your list??? Sounds like there's more to the excuse. ;)

Get ready to hear some other names come into the picture too. ;) You can actually see some of these banks financials and they are scary. Most site owners dont even bother to look at this type of stuff. Now is the time to be aware especially with all the bad news.

Well I'm one of those 10-15% and sent various emails to GTBill with NO response. My members with GTBill have dropped over 60%. :(
