Lol means "laughing out loud.” Similar thing in French "mdr" and "ptdr" mean about the same thing. Mdr mort de rire, ptdr pêté de rire bent over with laughter. So it would be like a friend person typing mdrdrdrdr or ptdrdrdrdrdr

Oh, that. Well, I can’t read his mind and I don’t know him. He’s laughing for any number of possible reasons, all of which personally offended my conscience enough that I wrote to you. Some of the reasons may have to do with xenophobia and prejudice toward people outside of America.
