Dammit! I fucking SUCK at golf !!!

Played my first 18 holes of the year today. Stopped keeping count after the 3rd. :Oh crap

Looks like it will be back to the driving range tomorrow

Anyone else started playing this year ?? Helps if you get the weather for it (which we don't).

Remember... hit the ball then the grass, not the other way around.

I never understood the appeal of golf. Sports should involve a good workout.

I peaked when I was in my 30s. For awhile I was shooting mid 90s on 18. I just don't play enough but I would sure love to get back at it. Just too inconsistent. I'll follow up a par with a quad bogey. :helpme

Walking 18 holes carrying a big bag of clubs can be a good workout. Especially if you end up in the woods a lot :1orglaugh

I call golf Wack-Fuck cause when I swing it's like WACK! "FUCK!"

That make more sense. Most golfers I've seen are riding around in carts.

If you ride around in a cart drinking beer all day, it defo is not a work out. If you walk, it is a great workout.

Average golf course is over 5,000 yards in the shortest distance from green to pin, which means it most likely is actually 15% over that if you consider walking side-ways to your ball, getting from hole to hole, clubhouse to hole, and all the other shit that goes on. Lets say you walk 6,000 yards on your golf game, that is a 5.5km walk carrying your bag that probably weighs anywhere from 25-45lbs. Average hobby golfer will also hit anywhere from 75-110 actual shots, if you are anything like me you will also take 2-3 practice swings before striking the ball which means you perform some 300 shots per round.

All in all, that is a very effective way to burn some good calories while having fun.

Same. Might be good for business talks etc.
On the other hand I remember reading an article that those top businessmen who do not play golf do make more deals or something like that. I forget the reason.

And I do not understand your post. It is like saying - I do not understand nice walks in the park, sports should involve a good workout. Or like saying - I do not understand card games, sports should involve a good workout.

Nobody is saying you should quit your sports and switch it to golf, walk in the park or playing cards. They do not have to be substitutes, they can coexist together.
