I hope it's some huge asteroid heading straight for earth on a collision course. I could with some excitement in my life.
|
They found aliens for sure - But not the really cool kind.
Most likely bacteria. |
Ok. we will see tomorrow.
|
Hmmm interesting the timing of it...

The second big announcement? Lets hope its better than the last one.
|
Speaking of Wikileaks, the NASA announcement is already on there :1orglaugh

They found a glass of coke on mars, they be stealing our coke.
|
All life as we know of is built out of the same components (unity of bio chemistry):
carbon - nitrogen - hydrogen - oxygen - phosphorus and sulfur If the rumor is true, then Dr. Felisa Wolfe-Simon will talk about a bacteria she found in an arsenic lake (Mono Lake) right here on Earth, arsenic-based life! Which is not using phosphorus (used to built DNA) but arsenic. So if that is true, this will totally rewrite the definition of life as we know it when searching for alien life outside earth. |

NASA Sets News Conference on Astrobiology Discovery; Science Journal Has Embargoed Details Until 2 p.m. EST On Dec. 2
WASHINGTON -- NASA will hold a news conference at 2 p.m. EST on Thursday, Dec. 2, to discuss an astrobiology finding that will impact the search for evidence of extraterrestrial life. Astrobiology is the study of the origin, evolution, distribution and future of life in the universe. The news conference will be held at the NASA Headquarters auditorium at 300 E St. SW, in Washington. It will be broadcast live on NASA Television and streamed on the agency's website at http://www.nasa.gov. link blah blah blah |
Should be interesting - but either small life or planned trip to Mars

NASA news is the most exciting kind!

If NASA comes up with footage of 15m tall lizards fishing for catfish on the shores of Titan's liquid methane lakes, I'll be impressed. Not impressed by NASA, but by the lizards who are stout enough to hunt and fish in -170 degree celsius temperatures. Still, imaging living on Titan and watching Saturn rise over the horizon every morning. Or, rather, every 15 days or so? |

Spoiler Alert !!
For those that cannot wait !! Geobiologists discovered microbes in Mono Lake California ,this lake has one of the highest natural concentrations of arsenic on Earth. Astrobiologist Dr Lewis Dartnell, of the Centre for Planetary Sciences in London, said yesterday: "This is exciting. If these organisms use arsenic in their metabolism, it demonstrates that there are other forms of life to those we knew of." ...."It opens up the possibility that Extra Terrestial aliens CAN exist in the solar system ". :) |
