One thing I hate about my country is that we (the US) get so butthurt when we're not chosen as the venue of an international event. It's like we expect all this stuff to be featured in the US 50% or more of them time when there are hundreds of other countries around the world who want it just as much.

for the largest sport in the world, the whole presentation ceremony was totally amateur at best, painful to watch.

Russia was the logical choice and they clearly explained why in their bid.

That said, you are an Englishman so laughing at our failure to secure the 2018 World Cup, and the boost to the economy, and jobs it would have created makes you a complete twat........ but there again pretty much you say here does that anyway so why am I surprised.
