I wish porn industry biggies had the balls and sued all such file hosting companies as well tube sites and message boards that hide behind the "uploaded by user" BS.
Theft is theft. Plain and simple. But whining does not help. it is a bad bad bad world.
if this was done right in the bigining, 5/6 years before 2010 may be porn industry would not be in state that it is today

people are scumbags - when nobody is looking they will steal, rape and pick their noses and eat snot.

If people take up the baton then they can get sued every day. It's also not just the fine, it's their costs and the plaintiffs costs added to the fine.

if they were sued left right and centre every day for weeks, they would have closed shop long time ago and these other mushrooming file hosting sites would have never been born.
What a farce this has become now. Everything is being uploaded for free by baboons trying to make $100/month ...only to be told after 3 months that their account is being terminated and income fortified because of too many copyright violatin complaints received!!!!
Thats a win win model for everyone except owners of porn and porn industurry

the fine is for violating the court order, which btw was reasonable, (filter for title, author, isbn when submitting) and not unreasonable (make sure our shit is not on your site irregardless of the name, etc is put when uploading it)

really worthless for the most part since, someone would simply rename the file into something else, and when posting on the boards to tell people about give the real name.

so i don't understand why they were so stupid as to not do that.

might be possible that copyrightholders basically misrepresented this systematic failure as refusal to do something (in which case it will be overturned on appeal).
