Movies to NOT watch thread - add yours!

I'll get the ball rolling with some crap i've recently watched that isn't worth wasting your time watching.

Operation End Game

I atleast thought this would be a bit funny even though the storyline is crap, but it turned to be a clusterfuck of absolute shit.

Staten Island

An attempt by the director to make something weird and interesting like perhaps a Scorcese stroke Tarrantino movie that fails on so many levels.

Add your's :thumbsup

citizen kane. absolute crap.

Jim_Gunn 12-05-2010 05:52 PM

I actually enjoyed it in a weird way but I saw a prettty dark and disturbing movie on Showtime the other evening- The Road, starring Viggo Mortensen. A father escorts his son along a road in a post-apocalyptic United States, being pursued by organized gangs of cannibals, preying on the few humans survivors. Some pretty dark and intense scenes and from what I read online, one they filmed featuring a cooked human baby on spit that didn't make the final edit.

If you liked the movie at all you should read the book. It is very good.

The Big Lebowski - a movie only stupid people like.

Caligari 12-05-2010 06:04 PM

Here are a few to avoid-
Paranormal Activity 2 - wow what a boring pile of crap
The Rig - John Forsyth stuck in yet another piece of shit horror film, practically unwatchable.
Iron Man 2 - did the production company let their kids make the sequel? overblown boring special effects and a lame ass story.

I watched a movie last night called Spider Baby. Pretty old movie (1968 - not that old to me, sad to say), but very fucked up. With Lon Chaney Jr (credited as "Lon Chaney"), and an extremely young - but just as creepy as he is 42 years later - Sid Haig. I can't say don't watch it, but its kind of fucked up.

If you're not interested in the history of horror movies - and maybe even if you are - you might want to skip it. Its a sad end to a great career.

Lon Chaney Jr is the son of the greatest horror movie actor in the history of American Cinema. I'd say "the world" but Boris Karloff, Vincent Price, Peter Lorre, Christopher Lee, Peter Cuching... Lon Chaney was the forefather of the modern American movie monster. His son was a close second.

Independance Day (American might like it but its insulting to everyone else).
Pearl Habour (No, World War 2 did not start on that day!).
Any historical film that changes the nationality of one of the main characters to an american in an attept to sell it to that market.
Any film with Jim Carrey in.

Turned it off half way though.

Go see Unstoppable. Unless you hate entirely predictable movies.

Skyline and Easy A. I would rather cut off my penis with a rusty bread knife than have to sit through either of these again.

"Machete"...

Paul Markham 12-06-2010 05:45 AM

Anything where the digital budget was more than the actors.

Seriously some films are all special effects done on a computer and leave the story, directing and acting to last.

Citizen Kane was one of the greatest films ever. But would fly over the heads of some.

XD2 12-06-2010 05:47 AM

In the last week:
Death Warrior
G.I. Joe

Total waste of time.

Really? That's too bad. I rather liked that movie. I found it had great atmosphere and kept me on my toes throughout most of it. Very Twilightzone-ish. I also loved the original Donnie Darko (same director).

The Box was originally a Twilight Zone episode called "Button" written by Richard Matheson (I Am Legend)

I liked it actually, interesting morality play.

Skyline looks like independence day crossed with something war of the worlds. And that dude that is playing the main character is a seriously shit actor.

Just saw "The Bounty Hunter" and boy does it suck. Anything with Jennifer Aniston I tend to stay away, but my wife wanted to see it. But after that, she wishes she hadn't

ShellyCrash 12-06-2010 08:49 AM

Southland Tales-

Fucking awful. I don't even know where to start. Pretty much in a nutshell they gave the guy who made Donnie Darko a blank check to do whatever he wanted and the result is a shit ton of famous people acting out the fantasies of a crazy person.

The Box might have been alot better if he hadn't added a bunch of shit to the story to try to tie it in to Southland Tales. That's how bad Southland Tales is, it's so fucking awful that it infects other movies. :Oh crap

The Happening (or pretty much every movie M. Night Shamalan made after Signs)-

I think Mark Wahlberg is incapable of playing a nice guy. He's so ill equipped at acting like a normal decent person, I think he must really be a complete asshole in real life to be so incapable of displaying kind or caring emotions on the screen. Besides the bad acting the story pretty much sucks, I can't believe someone gave him funding for this after Lady in the Water.. which by the way also sucks.

The Lovely Bones -

Another movie made crappier by Marky Mark's sappy over acting trying to play a good guy. I'm not a hater, I loved him in I <3 Huckabees, Boogie Nights, etc but this is another movie where he really sucks. I don't know what happened with Peter Jackson, he did a great job with Heavenly Creatures. Maybe because this was the film he was working on when he dropped close to 100lbs his crash diet left him light headed and confused. The ending of this movie made me so mad I wanted to break stuff. Fucking awful.
