iSpyCams 12-06-2010 10:03 AM

watching now STFU

John-ACWM 12-06-2010 10:04 AM

Gonna see it tonight. Too bad if it's getting worse :(

iSpyCams 12-06-2010 10:11 AM

There done. I didn't know that was a Bob Dylan song, I had only heard Rod Stewart sing it before.

I don't know what's so terrible about the series, I imagine it sucks to be changing writers like they were underwear, but for a zombie apocalypse show it's about what you'd expect.

I kind of like the show, slow yes, but it needs to be if it is going to go further than two or three seasons.

If you weren't a fan of where the show was going, apparently the producer also agrees with you and has fired the ENTIRE writing team, season 2 maybe drastically different in style.

GTS Mark 12-06-2010 01:25 PM

the part where they shot the shit out of the people in the hospital was pretty cool but yeah i agree it was disappointing. Almost doesn't seem fast paced enough and the 1st episode was such a mind blower!

billywatson 12-06-2010 02:18 PM

I think they're doing a great job with the TV content. I know people who are disappointed cause they're comparing the TV show to the graphic novel. You can't do that with any book-turned-in-to-a-movie.

I love the "end of the world" type of movies but they need to step up. They need to hunker down in a fortress, start gathering up supplies, and looking for other survivors.

I love how she happened to have a nade in her bag. funny stuff.

Far-L 12-07-2010 02:03 PM

Can zombies make amateur porn?

I thought it was a great episode, and in all seriousness, and I don't want to sound like a girl or nothing, but that was the best episode emotionally. I honestly was moved by the ending. I think the show has paced well - if it were all action and zombie killing then it would just be dull. I haven't read the graphic novels but I am glad I don't have to make the comparison so that I can judge each on its own merits.

Ayla_SquareTurtle 12-07-2010 02:15 PM

I haven't read the graphic novels/comics, so I'm not comparing that storyline to the TV storyline. I just straight up can't stand the writing on this show. The first episode and some of the flashback scenes are good, the rest is eyeroll-worthy at best.

I think some complaints might be coming from the expectation of a certain quality from AMC. It's a decent show, but its not on the same tier with Breaking Bad or Mad Men -- but that's OK, it has zombies.

I think in that kind of situation, you'll be one of two different kinds of people: those who want to lay down and die, and those who will do whatever they can to hold onto life. I'd definitely fight until my last nerve stopped twitching.

That was set up from episode one, and a little in episode three(maybe four). Did you remember that she was the laundry lady in camp, because her abusive husband forced her into it? The grenade didn't just magically appear.

Told you...

Was one of the better episodes. A lot of them were just lousy. Season 2 will be 13 episodes. I hope the show improves now that the Season 1 writers are all fired :thumbsup

As long as they don't let the comic creator, Robert Kirkman write any episodes, they'll be fine. Ironically, his writing is horrible. He was the one responsible for the mexican nurses bullshit. The comics are a great story overall, but at the micro level, the writing is fucking atrocious. They should give the man his royalty checks, a producer credit and keep his fat ass away from a typewriter.

Waiter 12-07-2010 03:48 PM

I enjoyed it :thumbsup

Dexter season finale is on Sunday also.

u-Bob 12-07-2010 04:25 PM

I liked it, but I wish they stopped doing those 6 or 7 trial-seasons... Those ultra short seasons just ruin it.
