Any recommendations? 18-24 bottles preferred.

I got one from Costco online for my sister as a gift. She "says" she is happy with it.

I wonder if I should get two smaller ones . . . one for reds and one for whites.
I guess a dual zone would be best. |
Rule one with wine fridges, got 50% bigger then you think you need (if you have room)

Something like this would be ideal for the size you want - http://www.wineenthusiast.com/wine-e... agetype=prod
Be wary of cheap wine fridges as they tend to have cheap motors that cause vibration which is bad for wine. |

I have a 35 bottle one at home and its too small. Between splitting it for reds and whites and then the low end wines and high end wines, its way too small. I'd double up like you suggested on 2 fridges. I need to pickup a second one, thanks for the reminder!

if it's just to serve wine at the right temperature go for a dual zone serving wine cellar. All this stuff about humidity control anti-vibration, uv protection etc is for wine storage for wine >1yr+ like you say.
I have a climadiff (CV294) that says it has a 294 bottle storage capacity, but be aware - the storage capacity is given for Bordeaux bottles (whichever country you buy them in). Not all bottles are the same size. If it was to simply serve wine at the right temperature, I say don't bother - just stick the bottle in the cooler for 30 mins for reds or take the whites out the cooler 15 mins before serving. |
Thanks Baddog, just found the exact same one I bought last year for $50 off and bought it. Should be here Friday :)

I had one, but took it back, it was not a temp controlled one, the fan/compressor, kept running all the time, drove me nuts:disgust

I did pick up a couple of these for parties though: http://www.amazon.com/Emerson-FR11SL...1833479&sr=8-5 works great when you have a bunch of different bottles opened at the same time. I think it all depends on the person and what their intended use is.. |
